vista home networking...howeedowit?
My roomie just got a new computer with vista. All the rest of the house uses XP. Is there any special way to make it network w/XP? Tried to follow all the instructions on the wizards as if it were XP, and it won't work. Maybe its just not compatible?

If it is wired you plug the ethernet into its connector and go.
If it is wireless I have no clue. Sorry.

OK back to this annoying thread. My other roomie just got a new computer with vista and they are now networking without any configuring. I'm still on XP and now no one is showing up on my network places. I did the create new connection wizard and restarted computer but still shows nothing. By the way it is not wireless.
Any one have a clue?

file sharing is disabled by default in vista for security reasons. they wont show up on the network until they enable file and printer sharing.
