Been playing a lot of Deus Ex 3 lately, the music in that game is very interesting. It's a mix of techno and vocals that really sounds unique.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.

This thread caused me to do a Bing search on Tommy Tallarico, the dude who composed the tunes for many popular games back in the day? As a result, I discovered that he's Steven Tyler's cousin. And that I was wrong in my belief that Tallarico partnered with Rare to do the soundtrack for Goldeneye 64. Dunno where I got that thought from.

In case anyone didn't post Storm Eagle's stage from Mega Man X somewhere in this thread, here it is. Armored Armadillo's music is pretty boss as well.

Just reached this guy in Paper Mario: Sticker Star today. Seriously one of the coolest boss themes I've ever heard, especially since it's a dynamic track - the current portion of the song changes depending on which attack he's prepping for, and thus acts as audio feedback telling the player what type of attack they will need to counter. It takes on a decidedly different tone when the player manages to turn the tables in their favor through a means that I won't spoil, because that's part of the challenge of the game - figuring out each boss's secret weakness!

A little unfortunate that this recording includes SFX, but at least they're relevant to the music as opposed to random game SFX.

They're not always that secret, Kersti dropped a huge hint against Tower Power Pokey when I took too long on my first attempt (had to reset since I literally ran out of attack stickers), not to mention the clues from the battle arena itself. It was not trying to hide that weakness at all. Hell, I defeated Megasparke Goomba and Mister Blizzard without abusing their special weakness, though against the Goomba Kersti did have to snark about how I used up most of my stickers in the process.

There's already so much in the thread, I hope i'm not reposting anything.

To answer the music posted by all you "ground pounders," here are a few from my joystick days:

Descent 3 Level 3 Music... extended version.
The full soundtrack of this game has many elements that presaged current electronic techno with some hints at dub step.
And no, the little pyro craft was NEVER a hybrid monster truck.
