I've got like 22gigs of Yoko Kanno stuff on my HD. She's by far my favorite composer, such range and it's all good.

Uhg, just finished The Skull Man. What a confusing anime. . .
It wasn't until the tenth episode (13 total) that they started answering all the questions.

Yeah that series was kind of confusing. The series that really got me was Durarara. I couldn't figure out how that tied together at all and it was driving me nuts. It was worth it in the end though.

My favorite is Berserk. Is there anything similar?

Uh, as far as violence and bloodiness, Franken Fran, but it's only a manga currently. It's about a frankenstein doctor who does insane surgeries with insane results. There's no sword fighting or anything, but it's really gory.

Or, in case you didn't, you could continue Berserk through the manga.

Edit: Hm, I didn't answer with an anime you could watch. . .
Yeah, Berserk is in a category of its' own. I can't think of any animes that would compare.

I am actually rereading berserk right now as i just bought a bunch of volumes and wanted to get back up to speed. Bronze is correct though there is nothing that can compare to the passionate storytelling of berserk its in a league of its own. Kentaro Miura is a mad genius. If however you want insanely violent sword combat and awesome art Blade of the Immortal By Hiroaki Samura is awesome. The manga for that one is far superior to the anime though as with berserk. If you just watched the anime of berserk and never read the manga then you havent even begun to experience berserk. After all there is no berserk without its hero

Yeah, the Berserk manga is better than the anime. There's actually a part that wasn't in the anime because it was just that bad.
I haven't read Berserk in a long time because I caught up, and then one chapter would get released like every other month.

And the reason Puck isn't in the anime is because the arc they were covering doesn't have Puck in it.
However, there has been word of new Berserk anime. If you go to the official website, and click on "Commercial Film" it has the five previews for it. Although it could just be OVA's, or a stand-alone movie. Not much information has been released yet.

Technically puck should have been in the first episode. I heard about the new release also. I am trying not to get excited because i fear disappointment.

Hellsing Ultimate
Badass ultra-violent vampire anime.
Also amazingly awesome.

Note: despite his appearance, Alucard is NOT Carmen Sandiego

On a side-note anyone else here seen the Macross Frontier Movie? It's interesting that the plot is so different from the series.

Sorry for the bump.

I was thinking of buying/watching Eureka Seven, and I was wondering what your guy's opinions on Eureka is.
I've heard it's the greatest anime evar, but I was just wondering.

One of the aspects that interest me is that it's not based off of a manga.
Animes not based off of mangas tend to be better. (Mainly because they have a good ending.)

I've seen it, wouldn't say it's the greatest ever, but it's good.
Giant-Mecha/Surfer anime, done by studio Bones (I generally like everything they do).

Watch the first couple episodes, see what you think. The rest of it's more of the same with a pretty good plot, and nice animation.
