Speaking of which, who's responsible for the Stove nickname?
:hi:

It harkens back to when many of us played CS:S and had slight variations to our name for a joke. Gatro came from this too. I seem to recall Masakari (Or should I say Makasari ;) ) being against the Stove nickname but eventually giving in.

I usually make my names on what interests me at the moment. I've had so many different names...I used to be charmander309, different variants of psycho_mantis (from Metal Gear Solid). I finally started sticking with GIR related names from Invader Zim. For a while I was TacoGir but people kept reading it as TacoGirl so I changed again to thedoomsong.
Abiscuit pressued me into making an account on the ville one night and I had either just finished reading or watching Bleach so I went with Espada.
For those who don't know, Espada are supposed to be the 10 strongest Arrancar in Bleach. What is an arrancar? An Arrancar is a Hollow that has removed its mask in order to attempt to gain the powers of a Shinigami. What are Hollows and Shinigami? Hollows are evil spirits that creat masks to hide their face/identity. The low level hollows all have holes in their chests where their hearts were, but for some reason as they evolve it tends to move. It should also be noted that Hollows carry a Spanish naming motiff and often have one meaning in Spanish and another in Japanese from the kanji they use to write the name. For example: Espada, spanish for sword, japanese for Ten Blades
My current in game name is Primera Espada, which is (debatably) the strongest Espada and also my favorite.
I've changed my name to go through all the Espada from Decimo to Primera and changed my in game picture to match. I've also posted all the release commands for the espada on the shoutbox.
I used to go by Lolrus here, but I changed my name to match my forum name. It was always funny to see how people said my name though.
Stevo tried to give me a nickname but I got upset. People never called me by my name in highschool and it's quite a sore spot for me.

I got the name Clay Pigeon on low grav turkeyburgers. I mainly played that on turkeyburgersville, but I played other places.

Instead of not moving much and sniping like a good boy I would generally go pyro and spam incendiary rockets while jumping from bookshelf to bookshelf. Even when I stayed sniper I would jump around to the best sniping spots. My constant jumping (and then floating) through the air got me the name.

Before that I was Incontinent Wombat, which makes no sense. Here are some collaged screenshots from the ville with my prior name.

avantiville was my favorite place to escape to back in 2002 and also the year i fell in love with the Trigun anime. so 3 or three had to be in my name. the extra "n" in gunn was added for aesthetics, matching 'three'
...and that's pretty much it :D

@clay ...that caltrop image brings back painful memories of slowing down my already slow solly! :D

Well, this is rather complicated, maybe I should list the reasons why instead:

1. I am married to Dukenukem. When I started gaming with my husband I named myself LadyDuke in his honour. I would have chosen DuchessNukem, but my daughter went by that already.

2. Since, in my opinion, LadyDuke was kinda bland. I picked Ladeee because it is a play on my real name, Lydia. I like caligraphy and the way names look is important to me. I like "e's". Go figure.

3. I like the Kenny Roger's song "Lady" and I like the skit by Jerry Lewis, "Hey Ladyyyyyy!".

4. Alot of the villuns started just calling me Ladeee after a giddy night of Jerry Lewis impersonations on DoD 1.3. I was then dubbed, "Hey Ladeee!" It has stuck ever since.

5. I had hoped to disabuse men of their notions that girls don't play internet by using a female name. It is funny because I have to keep telling them, "I am Lady not Laddie or Lassie". Oh well, I like the name anyhow and will keep my spelling, it's unique.

Kilaak Kommander is supreme ruler of the Kilaak civilization. It is not a username, tag, or handle. It is a birthright.

Some hu-mans have funny names.

My first online persona was TommyBill because my Great Grand Mother called me that when I was a kid(my first name is Thomas and my middle name is William). I used that for my first steam account back in the day when I played CS 1.3 and DoD 1.6 occasionally. When I moved to Philadelphia from Michigan in 2001 I was without a capable PC for years and in the absence of PC gaming in my life I forgot the password to that account as well as the email address I used. I also used TommyBill for years while playing the SOCOM games on the PS2.

When I was 18 or 19(I can't remember exactly) I lived in a rented house with a bunch of other skateboarders. All we ever did was skate and drink copious amounts of booze while working as few hours as possible at our respective jobs(obviously so we could have more time for this kind of debauchery). Like any good raging alcoholic I used to become quite retrospective when I reached the point of whiskey intake that's somewhere just before you blackout. Apparently while explaining to somebody at the house the differences between Drunken Tom and Sober Tom(my name is Tom and I also apparently talk about myself in the 3rd person while inebriated) I called myself Drunken Trom due to a propensity to slurred speech after one drinks a fifth of whiskey. I have no recollection of this at all but my friends made the nickname stick, even to the point that a year or two ago when my friend Jason(Iron Midget) was picking me up from the airport he was holding a sign above his head with DrunkenTrom written on it. So that's how the name was born so it only seemed natural to make it my online moniker. I use it in every game I play on the PC as well as my XBL gamertag and PSN ID. I should add that my gamertag has a space between Drunken and Trom(Drunken Trom) but PSN doesn't allow spaces and when I made a new steam ID I also left out the space, but I'm not paying M$ $10 to take out the space for the gamertag...

When I first got online, I used to go by 'IgnisAer'. Not sure when that came about, but I enjoy 'elemental' sorts of things and archaic languages, so: Fire and Air in latin sort of equals IgnisAer.

My current handle started with Acheron's Call, when I was first getting into online games. I was making an aluvian swordmaster and wanted something olde english-y and original. Not sure how I came up with it, but he was called 'Thaewyn the Fleet'. I think the 'fleet' part came from reading Lord of the Rings too much. I loved the idea that people would bestow nicknames upon you for cool things you did (when Eomer found Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas hoofing it across the fields of Rohan, and dubbed him 'wingfoot').

That's a little long and complicated for internet standards, so it got shortened to Thaewyn or sometimes just 'Tay'

OK well a lot have heard the Story of how I became Rigges 8)

But here it is again.

My Nephew SuperShottyMario got me in to playing CS 1.3 and I Played under Player LOL

My Nephew said you got to come up with a game name may be something from your past or something.

So I thought about my past and things I have done.
So here they are.

I had been a Volunteer with the Riverside County Sheriffs Department.
I have always been an avid shooter and I have been Known for shooting a milk jug cap at 500 & 1000 Yards.
I was in the US Army and on the Army Rifle and Pistol team in AK. We were Invited to Los Angeles CA for a Shooting Tournament at the LAPD Ranges this was in 1986. While I was there they were shooting the Film Lethal Weapon. I met Danny Glover and Mel Gibson at the range and about 10 Min before they filmed the segment were Sgt Martin Riggs shoots the Smiley face target I shot the Target for them at about 15 ft not the 50 ft they depict in the movie. Additional if you listen to the Intercom during the range sequence you can hear the dispatcher call out my last name as Officer White.
So yes I am Really the person who shot the Smiley Face :) target for the March 1987 Movie Lethal Weapon.

Things that are alike with me and the Film character are Army, Law Enforcement, Great Shot with a gun, and Long Distance shooting. I was a Sergent in the Army at the Time too ended as a Staff Sergeant.

So anyways I was Playing CS 3.1 with 7iT with my Nephew SuperShottyMario in CA at the time and that is when I picked SgtMartinRiggesLAPD____Yes I know I added an e that was intentional.
There were some variations with that. Then I moved from CA to MI and could not hit the 7iT servers any more Ping was tear-able so I found AnB and the CTR I had joined them for quite a while dropped the LAPD and later the Sgt from my name then when I was invited to the CTR clan I dropped the Martin to just Rigges.

The AnB servers had trouble they had some exceptional boxes but they got fried 3 different times and there web site died and crashed several times then the owners wife fell Ill and that Kind of closed it though they seem to be making a come back.

So then I built a new PC in 2008 and found the Ville for TF2 my new Home
were I have been a Gold Supporter the entire time V$ to my name

Here I dropped the clan tag CTR

Finally was Invited in to the Bloody Roar Guild [BR] was added

Now my latest addition to my name is Saucy this is from Ladeee she gave me the name due to my saucyness in making some very special shrimp cocktail sauces and having a lot of sauces in my Fridge LOL

So I am Now [BR] Saucy Rigges V$

Oh and I am on the <AXE) team 5 for the VilleCup right now
any way I am either Saucy or I am Rigges

its is Pronounced Rigges or Riggs

it is not Riggles, Riggers, Riggies, Ruggles Rigger or Regis or Reggis

Well that should be enough Information an My name.........

Ta da 8) 8) 8)

When I first started playing FPS Shooter games online in 1997 I originally went by "Flash Gordon." I used that for Quake, Duke Nukem, and other games until Half-Life came into play. Since the main character was named "Gordon" I changed my name to Agent X, and have used in in all FPS games ever since. The reason why I chose "Agent" is because I always played as the G Man in Half-Life Deathmatch and "X" was just to add an element of mystery. Most everyone here has shortned it to "X" which is fine by me. :) I have not been fortunate yet to get rebranded by Stevo or Jim yet, but I am sure they will think of something eventually.

Also, just a fun bit of trivia..... I was at the Texas vs. Texas Tech game in 2002 that Jim mentioned was the inspiration behind his name. I am a Longhorn fan and that game was a classic "sucker punch game." It was a long ride home.

For MMO and RPG games though, I use Ravak. Not sure why really, but it was the first MMO character that I made in Ultima Online. "Ravak" has been created in many MMO games to date, and is looking forward to being created in Star Trek Online and the new Star Wars/Bioware MMO once it comes out.
