Re: Getting to know you (again)
Hello, this is my first post here.... I figure I'd share a bit of my self with those I've been playing with/against
How long on the Ville?
I have been playing the servers - mostly II - for about ~ 1 year
I have been a supporter ~ 1 month
This is my first post....
Odd talents?
TF2 is certianly not a talent of mine as you could tell by playing against me.
Im stumped here.... I'm odd by nature, so it all seems normal to me
How old, talents, job
I'm 30+ a few, live in New Mexico and I am a physicist.
I have a great wife and two smart dogs.
I play guitar in a band, run, mtn bike and play volleyball..
I am addicted to TF2.... never played a game this long, and I grew up on games
I am highly computer challenged......
One thing I've learned since being a member?
The bar has been set real high for the other servers, this is a great place to play and there is a real good group of people running things here.
The one thing I am known for here....
Not sure that I am "known" here, but the guys I play regularly with would say that I'm most likely to die first
Hey! Good to see you in the forums. I've been busy with marching band since college football is under way, but I look forward to seeing you on the forums and in game more.
Physicist? Dang, are you a professor or work for aerospace or what? I'm not really sure the ways in which the private sector employs physicists, I'd be curious to find out.

How long have you been a member of the ville? Not long.
Name one odd talent you have. I can befriend any animal.
how old are you, where are you, and what do you do for a living? 36, SE Michigan, IT Director
Hobbies? Too many to list them all. Expedition Kayaking, CCGs, Video games, Hiking, SCA (heavy weapons), Larps...
Tell me one thing you've learned no matter how obsurd that you've figured out since being a member of the ville? I finally found this website.
If theres one thing your known for here what is it? Arguing with Pickles "impostors".

Re: Getting to know you (again)
Thanks for the welcome. Physicists like to pride them selves in being able to do alot of things (theoretically). Anyhow....... engineers would say other wise
I have a lot of friends that went to Intels and IBMs and GE's and Motorola’s (in Texas somewhere) of the world. A lot of materials and electronics R&D.
See you all out in the war zone

Re: Getting to know you (again)
Shesh, we got too many physics nerds in here. I'm at school double majoring in physics and mathematics with an emphasis on teaching, while having a double minor in art studio and art history. It's one of those things where I hated all my teachers throughout school and thought I was better at explaining concepts than they were so I became a tutor. The next step now is to take a stab at teaching highschool science and math for a couple years before sinking into depression from the combined weight of my dreams of enlightened students being crushed and crippling student loans. That's my plan, at least.
The Art thing was my declared major before I realized how skewed the values of the art world is. It's getting less and less about technical skill and more and more about how lucky you are in finding someone who likes your abstract stuff. I entered a lot of local competitions while in highschool and won for a lot of anatomy based drawings (Along the lines of the Kaitai Shinsho, an early medical journal in Japan.), some charcoal figures I did at a JC during summer, and my nerdular possession with drawing dinosaurs. I'd only want to be a company-man artist along the lines of concept artist, but my school's art program was more for the "Make something and hope a rich pretentious guy buys it." kinda artist. Which, since I'm complaining about people not understanding what art is, makes me just like them.
That covers pretty much everything the checklist was doing. Going to school, physics, art, live near San Fransisco. Doubt I'm known here for much of anything besides the few friends I got.
Hobbies: Doodling, gaming (Mostly retro), MTG booster drafts at a local cardshop. Mostly games like JRPG's, SRPG's, Adventure, Side Scrolling. Whatever. I'm the kinda guy who plays Ikaruga enough to beat it on one credit and plays through LoZ without a sword on normal and Master quest for fun. Nowadays I'm biding my time until SC2 (I played SC and WC3 like a fiend - if anyone wants to try their luck in a 1v1 against a Hu, I'm down) by spending absurd amounts of time in TF2 and going through some imported games I bought.

Re: Getting to know you (again)
Haha! I wanted to major in art before I went down the path of physics. There is a lot of room for creativity in the sciences... it not all about formulas.
High school would be a good place to be creative through the need for"interesting" experiments in th lab.

How long have you been a member of The Ville?
Since October 2009, although I've been playing in The Ville since the beginning of August.
Name one odd talent you have.
Having memorized the first eighty-something digits of π (pi).
How old are you, where are you and what do you do for a living?
For one thing, I'm not old enough to drink. I live somewhere at western Pennsylvania. I'm not working as of yet, if that's what you want to know – that is, not a full-time job.
Hobbies?
Being a grammer nazi (teehee), sniping, slaying zombies, being a zombie and drinking a cup of joe all the while I do all that.
Tell me one thing you've learned – no matter how absurd – that you figured out since being a member of The Ville.
Nothing really.
If there's one thing you're known for here, what is it?
Well, I'm probably known for constantly changing my name – for those that can keep track of all the changes – although I use the words faulty, fuse, resistor or the name of some other electrical component a lot.
