Gone away for a weekish

Post by metacide » Sat Aug 08, 2009 2:50 am

I'm taking a vacation so I wont be on the Ville for a few days.

I'll actually be in MMX's area! Taking a trip to Europe :D I'll be back in a week, I know you'll all miss me.

I'll bring back good pictures.

Europe? Nice. Eat good food. I spent a day in France once, and since I didn't have much time I just ate everything in sight.

Good thing you didn't go to the Louvre then. That could have been bad.

One of these days, I will go on tour of Europe and other wonderful places. But until then, bring me back some pictures so I can covet them. Have fun!

The Mona Lisa was disappointing to me. The Louvre was great (enormous) but ML was smaller than I thought, which I hear is a common misconception. I guess I never saw it next to anything to give me a comparison and I did my best at a recreation of it in Jr. High. The crowd to get around to see it was annoying too, but we did go during the week release of the Da Vinci Code.

The Musée d'Orsay was a cooler place IMO. Many of the paintings from Van Gogh and Monet are hanging on the walls for you to inspect from just inches away.
