Best place/way to buy?
I used to play CS way back in the day, didn't even know they had done anything else with it in the last 5 years. Anyway, what would be my best option to buy CSS?
I noticed on Steam they have the following package options:
$19.99 - Buy Counter-Strike: Source
$24.99 - Buy Counter-Strike: Source + Garry's Mod
Includes: Counter-Strike: Source, Garry's Mod
$29.99 - Buy Source Multiplayer Pack
Includes: Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
$29.99 - Buy Counter-Strike Complete
Includes: Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Source
Would one of these be the best option? I know nothing about any of these mods.

If you don't have DoD:S, the Source Multiplayer package might be nice. We get together (mostly on Monday nights) to play on the Ville DoD:S server.

Re: Best place/way to buy?
That's the advice I thought I would get, so I will probably go that route. Although I may not get it for a little while. I'm a little obsessive and want to complete every achievement in TF2 before I get into any other games. I've only gotten through 99/132 in the last 12 days, so I have a bit of a ways to go, especially with the 1million pyro damage, that one is a time consuming beast. I'm also going on vacation Saturday through next Sunday, so won't have any time to work on them then.
Anyway, the new servers and my previous interest in CS back in the day prompted me to ask this for future use. I appreciate the advice and will keep it in mind once I'm through all the achievements.
Thanks again!
you could probably wait for the occasional steam sale and pick some pack up then.
I'd guess with the super packs that you could also gift the duplicates for whatever games you already have.
Can you gift part of a bundle? I have only played tf2 from orange box so far, but when I go into steam, I have no option to gift any of the other games to someone.
Anyone know if it is possible? Can you gift already purchased games to someone or parts of future purchased bundles?
Thanks!
If you have extra copies of the games, then you can gift the extras. So if a pack includes HL2 and you already have it, you can gift HL2 to another account.
Hmmm, according to the steam support, this only applies to “Half-Life 2,” “Half-Life 2: Episode One,” and “Half-Life 2: Episode Two”.
Can anyone confirm or deny this? If I buy the valve complete pack, will I be able to gift tf2 and portal to someone or not?
Thanks!
