Custom Maps won't load?

Hey, I created a random "Test" map on my desktop, now I want to move it to a folder in My Docs but every time I save as there and load the map with the new copy it won't load the map. Then I try to make my own server and it tries to load the map, but fails. No errors just starts to fade to black then fades back to the menu mid fade.

There is an error in the log though:

reading c:\documents and settings\joe\my documents\hammer levels\Learning Map.bsp
reading c:\documents and settings\joe\my documents\hammer levels\Learning Map.prt
LoadPortals: couldn't read c:\documents and settings\joe\my documents\hammer levels\Learning Map.prt

Anyone know why this keeps happening and how to fix it?

dont move the map to the folder in your docs...


The .bsp file needs to be here:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\YOURACCOUNT\team fortress 2\tf\maps


that should solve it for ya

I sure hope so... It's just odd that it didn't work when I moved it. If I created a file from scratch and saved it into the folder in My Docs it works fine. But if I move it anywhere. Boom. I nuke falls onto it when I try to open it in TF2

I just saw it:

you cant have a space in the name of the map.

"Learning map" needs to be "Learning_map"


ya, I know, you can pay me back later
