Also on points 1/5 the new textures enable a person to rocket/sticky jump up to and on the wall. And then perform ambush manuvers.

On the topic of the name.
I always liked the name Warpath because it kinda made sense to how the map was played. You were following a Path while waging a War with the other team. IMO I would like the name to be a synonym for Warpath.

Re: Old Map, New Paint
You guys are gonna make me recompile this map again......aren't you? On the plus side, in finding my lack of a player clip, well actually the clip was there, it just didn't cover the displacement, I saw about 4 other spots I failed to clip. Thanks for finding that mlite.

Re: Old Map, New Paint
I think it looks great! Here are my few thoughts:
I agree with Peahats that the "blast marks" all over the map seem out of place.
My only other concern is the missing truck at 1/5. It seems like it really opens up the sight line into the final point which could make it much harder for the defending team to move across from their spawn exit. What does everyone else think?

Re: Old Map, New Paint
This is nicely done! My biggest concern, aside from what someone already mentioned regarding the slightly inconsistent choice of rock textures, is that having so many rounded edges on everything seems a little out-of-place in TF2's world of mostly hard corners, as does the overall team-colored-concrete theming. That's probably just personal taste though. Plus Warpath in general isn't known for its aesthetics - Warpath2 as we have it now doesn't exactly look like other TF2 maps either. That's not a bad thing.
Good stuff! It makes me wanna get back into mapping.

Theres some other spots that I have suggestions on, namely texture errors. I'll post em when I get home.

Re: Old Map, New Paint
The map textures you all see and obviously don't care for, are in the skybox. I didn't see it as too big a problem and I thought it brought some diversity to the map. Okay, I'll change it...............
The blast marks that Peahat and Flash didn't like, I changed that to something more TF2 with just scorch marks. I still think my blast marks looked pretty cool but, I'll bow to public opinion.
Made the rocks at point one (the missing dump truck) bigger to block the line of sight that Flash was concerned about.
As I said before, fixed the player clips that mlite pointed out.
I was gonna go ahead and recompile this but on second thought, I'm going to give it some more time to get feedback.

I liked the blast marks the way they where.
And I wouldn't mess with anything in the skybox. But thats just me.

Re: Old Map, New Paint
So, I've been quiet on the whole subject of this map for the past week but, that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. Overhaul of the tunnels and all the spawn points is now complete.
The bots seem to like the changes but they aren't much for constructive feedback. So, if you have the inclination and the time, download it again from
http://pages.suddenlink.net/kamikazeyz/cp_warhammer.zip
Just extract it and overwrite the other file if you downloaded it before.

Re: Old Map, New Paint
So, does this mean you are still working on the map part-by-part? The only problems I see is that you managed to add 3 more texture errors in addition to the old one.
The rock from before: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656 ... tab=public
The soda-pop machine: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656 ... tab=public
The tractor and truck: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656 ... tab=public
Other than that I love the way you redid the tunnels.

Re: Old Map, New Paint
Sigh, this would be a whole lot less agravating if I could find that I made some ignorant mistake but, the .bsp says the textures are there. I wonder if when I zipped the .bsp it corrupted something?
