What's your setup?
I don't know if this is a taboo subject; I'm certainly not fishing for anyone's black magic secrets of TF2 or anything.
I am just curious, as I am now experimenting with the custom keys and macros on my Logitech G15 keyboard. Is everyone using the default TF2 keyboard setup? Do you tweak the settings so you can call a medic with 'f' instead of 'e' or anything? Are you using any keybindings regularly?
Are you using that HP mouse that came with your off the shelf rig? Something better?
I think of these as tips to me, a player with an abysmal kpd ratio. (Mostly, I must admit, due to an almost unstoppable pyro/engineer fetish). Of course, a healthy dose of curiousity is also part of the mix! So let's hear it, what is your interface like?

Re: What's your setup?
Doom was my first serious FPS game i played. For all the games that came after that, i use the same basic config, which is different from what a lot of people use:
up, down, left, right keys i use for movement.
i use mouse 4 to display the player scores.
Enter is reload.
Right shift is jump
Right ctrl is crouch
KP_ins is used for the mic
mouse wheel is used to switch wepons
mouse 3 (pressing the wheel) switches to last wepon used.
i need to make some quick keys for an Engy and Spy.

Re: What's your setup?
for the most part I am stock. I used my right click to jump. Its how I play all FPS games so I always have to change it. I also made my center mouse wheel click the special ability. So for a sniper I zoom in with that and a spy I cloak with it. I think thats all that I changed.

Re: What's your setup?
I use all stock, and for my controls, I just use standard with b for last disguise as spy.

Re: What's your setup?
Mostly standard bindings, the main exception being binding a mouse button (one under my thumb) to Voicechat, what a difference that made to me, I could actually talk without getting shredded or tying my fingers into knots
F1-4 builds and destroys
F does a sticky jump
Spacebar crouchjumps
Thats it I think...
I recently got a Razer Copperhead for $35 from Woot! Love that mouse.
Cheers

for the most part i use defaults.. except i cant stand using ctrl as crouch so i always switch that to shift instead, makes it easier since i crouch more often than walk and in most fps's they have the walk button defaulted to shift and crouch to ctrl. as for voice chat, i use the button on my G5 mouse closest to my thumb, works wonders having it there.

Re: What's your setup?
I use the arrow keys for movement, so most of my major controls are there. Call for Medic is 0 on the numpad, crouch is ctrl, jump is spacebar, and I have most of the voice commands bound to my custom keys on my G11.
But my most-used commands are on my mouse, right and left click are primary and secondary fire, respectively. Class change is middle button (the wheel), weapon switch is on the wheel (that's how I can switch to axe so quickly
), reload and voicechat are my side mouse buttons.
The rest are all stock.

Re: What's your setup?
Very interesting input. I also have the Copperhead, HW. I have been trying to ramp myself up on the sensitivity settings. It was very funny the other night on COnvoy, when we were heavily guarding the intelligence and I was standing beside a dispenser and flaming the doorway next to the hatchway in the intelligence room. Someone came to the door, and I asked my 16 year old, who is an avid 360 player, to continue flaming the doorway for me. He could not control the mouse, or even keep the flame on the doorway. It was hilarious.
I have been kind of mentally fishing around for changes to make, and aside from maybe moving the crouch button, I think I am pretty happy with the default config. It just seems like such a shame to not use all that built-in configurability!!
See you all on the battlefield!!

Stock for just about everything - though i make Shift crouch (using Ctrl throws off my hand's position because I have small hands) and make use of my Logitech G3's 4th and 5th buttons as binding something to them (usually voice chat for online games, or interaction/use/sprint).
