TFC vs TF2
Been doing some thinking about some of the differences of significance to me between the above mentioned games. In no particular order here's a few things I miss about TFC and dream would be integrated into TF2:
1) Infections
2) Nades
3) Instant respawn
4) Hoaxie
5) Infections
1) Infections
2) Nades
3) Instant respawn
4) Hoaxie
5) Infections
i'd agree with all of those there MJ ( the medic i learned the game from) but after not having nades and listening to the developers commentary about it. i can understand very much why they decided to not have them.
nice to see yah back by the way!

I never listened to the commentary, but I ratehr like having no nades. Something I think it has done is really promote people working as a TEAM. And, ultimately, that is what the game is about - hence TEAM Fortress.
As for infections.... Meh? They were fun, but they are two totally different games, and I for one don't miss them. They had interesting game play aspects, but ultimately, they made the game feel lop-sided unless you had a medic too. That basically FORCES some one to play medic if there is one on the other team.
Hoaxie? Errr.... I don't recall anything by that term in TFC - but it might have been after my time too. I stopped playing long before Valve stopped supporting it and adding content and updates. (Job... *sigh*)
As for the respawn times, I also am not a big fan of the LONG ones. I don't mind the shorter ones - they give you a break to reassemble your jangled nerves if you had a rough last round hehe. I don't recall which server - 6 maybe? has lower respawn times. I really enjoy that. Thanks again Blown for lowering those!
I enjoyed TFC, but I am happy to be playing TF2 - I think it's a superior game all around.

Haoxie = Someone that used to play here. She was a excellent HW and fun to play with.
She has been gone for along time now, but it would be nice to see her again.

Lol, Hoaxie is actually a person. She played here back in the TFC days of TheVille. Very good spammer.

whats up MJ! i've stopped comparing the two because to me they're two different games. it's like a good ending to a long term relationship. tfc was my first and serious love...and though we've parted ways i'm not at all upset about being with this new babe (a definite upgrade.
) i'll never forget tfc and what she has done for me...help me grow and mature yadda yadda yadda ...but the future is bright. you get the point.

definitely would be good to see her again...didn't she also make all of our chicken avatars for one of the fun nights with the chicken mod?

I'll tell you what I DO miss though, and might get me playing spy more often - the feigning death thing. I loved that.
imagine the spies feigning in an overdramatic fashion. a loud and quick scream...grabs his heart...places the back of his hand over his forehead...a couple drunken like spins before collapsing. ...then finally one last twitch after a dramatic pause.

I miss the higher effective HP values making fights last a little longer.
I also miss the specialty nades.
I really miss emps when i come across stickies...

They do, B. It's their weapons instead of backpacks on the ground.
I was skeptical of some of the missing TFC elements in TF2 at first. Now, I think it would ruin the game to implement those things. I think it's great as is.
Welcome back, MJ!
lol at the feign death suggestion, but I think that your enemies *might just* catch on if it were like that...
Just maybe.....
oh definitely...but a hoot to watch!
it'd make a nice semi-taunt if anything.

Ya but only the Heavy can pick em up.... right?
...'member when spies would feign/drop ammo pack, that was good wholesome trickery.
Now that all the dev tools have been released you can garauntee there will be some kind of faked-nade plug in. I read a post yesterday from this guy who is gathering up a team to create a TF2+ mod (like NeoTF)... I think its funny, the game is awesome the way it is.
