Lag on TV8
A few people have been complaining of lag issues on TV8.
It's not the first time.
I want to submit a ticket to GameServers for them to look at it.
For those of you experiencing the lag, I need a tracert.
# Step 1. Start->run and then type in 'cmd' in the box.
# Step 2. Type 'tracert 63.210.145.203' in the window.
Copy and paste the info below.
I also need times of when it happens: evenings? all the time?
I'll submit this data to GameServers to help them figure out what is up.

I get it the same as these guys.
it seems to come in chunks... and everyone complains at once. its not just a slowdown sometimes its choppy 1fps for upward of 5 -10 seconds sometimes.
also, what Giz said.
Thank you Dog for doing something about it.
I'm a long way away, so it doesnt really matter what time these guys are playing, but usually server time says around 20:00 - 01:30

Re: Lag on TV8
I personally don't think this is network lag related. I usually run with a 5-8 ping (yes start flaming) and still get the lag without any spikes to my ping. Do you now if the server is multi-homed with other server(s)?
At work now and will post a tracert tonight so you can see my 1 hop to the server I'm sitting on.
Also I noticed the worst lag, whatever it is, occured the strongest around 8:30-9pm CST.

We need to take the server out of Avar's closet, it's obvious that he causes the lag when his team needs it by kicking the cord!

The server is most definitely got other games running on it. Gameservers may have over stacked this particular server, or other servers running fill up at the same time TV8 is full.
It definitely doesn't seem like a latency thing, it's more like everything just gets completely bogged down for several seconds, voice chat still works fine as far as I can tell. I always hear multiple people moaning during the spike.

Re: Lag on TV8
Spike actually made me crash with the "buffer overflow" message a couple days ago, and it looked as though about 6 people got dumped on that spike. I've not noticed any pattern to them since I play at all different times, but when it hits, it hits hard.
