The topic is to discuss TheVille's TF2 Custom Server (AKA: TV2). We discuss things such as what maps should be added, which should be removed, problems with certain maps or settings on the server, etc. Every two weeks, we add in around three maps to the server to play and test and decide if we want to keep any of them or use it to replace a current unpopular/bad map we have.

I dont understand all the toy fort hate

i think its a pretty fun and funny map...and lots of fun for demo and soldier jumping

plus its nice and small so youre right back into the action and that does make it hard to win


anyway, id love to see more maps on the server to play but dont get rid of toy fort just yet!

I think you'll find a lot of Warpath regs who like Toyfort because it's a similar style. Likewise for those who hate Warpath.

From a personal stance, I dislike the map because of the chokepoints and the amount of spam on that map. A map shouldn't give a class too much power.

In Toy Fort's case, Demo has an abundance amount of spam power. They can throw grenades and stickies over the blocks, they can hop on the door giving them an outrageous amount of height/view advantage, and of course, the bed area at the last point.

The middle point is where 75% of the action takes place, and most of that action is spam. It makes playing most of the classes a chore rather than being enjoyable.

I think this is as much looking for your (or anybody else's) input as it is just stating anything, so if you've got your own ideas of what should be included or removed, or of some really great customs out there, I'm sure they'll be considered just as much as anything Infy (or anybody else) suggests. :lol:

I can think of two CTF maps that might be good. Maybe.

- CTF_Aerospace - This one gets great reviews and looks like a pretty creative map. The only problem is that it's freaking gigantic and was probably built for 32-man servers.
- CTF_Steamroll - A unique map with unique rules. The teams are given one minute to capture the enemy's intelligence. Any player that dies is sent to a spectator room until the round ends. When the intel is captured, the losing team gets flattened by a train. This is more of a fun map than anything else.

Plus, there's also...

- TC_Meridian - Mixes the Territory Control mechanic with CTF. So there's no standing around on a point and getting blown up by freshly-spawned defenders.


And this might count for a 5-point CP map...

- PL_Waste - A 5-point CP map. With a Payload cart instead of Control Point pads. Created by the guy who made Observatory.

Um I ll look the list over I have some favorites

and really its not that Infy wrote this nice list and worked on this for all of us is actually its that there are a few things that have come up and it things I would be interested in and I never get asked to join in on them I see a bunch of peps go out and ask each other and they are well on my friends list they ask to be on my list then they do some thing like form a group on some thing and then its there for over a week or a month and I finally see it and it like hey what gives how come you did not invite me and it OH well come on Rigges It just gets me down that I get asked Last some times or to me it feels like last.........

pl_cranetop_b6 Oh yea this is the Bomb needs a few bugs fixed though as in the second round the mono rail cart is Borked

I would like to see umm Ians map here to umm Platform its pretty good

I love playing customs and seeing something new more art new scenes etc

So I will watch this Topic and I will feel free to tell you all what I think of the Maps and I will put my 2 cents in weather you all Liston to me is up to you all.............. or at least my be my Vote will be counted...

This was tested out on the group testing. We thought it would've been much better for a 5CP map, but for a payload map where both teams can push the cart, nobody would ever win unless teams were horrendously stacked.

We also had no idea that we could push the cart until we stood on the cart long enough to realize you had to cap the cart, as if it was a point, and THEN it could be pushed by either team. There was no point-capping indication or anything. Our thoughts that if it was 5CP, it would play quite nicely. But in it's current state, it might be too confusing and too stalemate-y to play on.

As much as I personally hate it, toy fort needs to stay on simply for the fact that it fills the server.

I hate saying this....but I 100% agree with Carpe. Whatever happens, do NOT delete toyfort from TV2. I know - it's like warpath - some people love it, some people hate it. But since it does have a fan base, it should stay.

I think there are a few maps on TV2 that need to either get fixed, or be removed. But toyfort isn't one of them.

I actually kinda liked Cranetop until they added that 3rd stage. It's just... not very good in my opinion.
