Team Captains should not completely rule out the stats pages.

If used properly, you can indeed gain important info about players from them. Specifically, which classes players play as, which can be used to put together a decent team. Also, you can look at which players have a lot of bonus points for capturing a point and also who has points for defending, etc.

These are the stats that should be looked at. Also, a player that has a high amount of captures while maintaining a good K/D ratio would seem to be an aggressive player who can still take out enemies instead of hanging back and picking off players.

So, you see, the stats can show important info when putting together a team. It's all in how they are looked at.

Unless people like myself who play competitively in leagues/ladders are just goofing around with other classes while they pub. In competition I play heavy/demo/soldier but on the Ville servers I've been playing a lot of scout. :P

I don't cap a lot, usually I'm a demo and lay stickies on it while someone else is capping so I can just detonate them and stop their blocking. You really can't tell squat from stats. Only by playing with other people can you tell.

You do realize that blowing up stickies when someone is capping counts as "Capture Blocked" and shows up in the .... errrm .... stats ?

If captains what to completely discount the stats who am I to tell them ? However a smart captain will use stats as just one way to determine how to put together a solid team.

Oh ... and /puke !

You owe me a new keyboard !!!!!!!!! :P

The captain role is so important. Yes, by all means the stats can be a big source of info, but by all means its not definitive. That's why we need captains that will look at the whole picture. Winning is part of the fun, but the real reason we do this is to seed new friendship that will stand time. It doesnt always happen that way but, that what we're shootin for. :)

To: the captains

I am S, and sometimes loose myslef and push too hard, but overall when i see them gibs, it brings me a warm smile [kinda sick?]

I would have offered to be captain, but it doesn't fit in with my university schedule

I will most likely be able to play, coz I am 19 hours ahead of the ville, and will be on a sunday for me :D

cheers
