I guess a spamming Solly or Demo is going to need the same thing a spamming Heavy does on defense: A Dispenser right next to him.
I was thinking on it earlier, and I wondered if this nerf had anything to do with the upcoming new weapon configurations. Perhaps the Soldier will get his maximum clip back, at the expense of some of the strength of the rocket.
I dunno. Denial is the first stage of loss.
I played Demoman on Badlands today, and I was out of pipes in no time flat. Trying to defend our spire, I had to fall back with enemies rushing onto it because in a matter of around a minute, I'd exhausted all of my ammo for both weapons. He suffered the most from this update. Soldier is slow firing and reloading enough to make the difference less drastic but the Demo...phew...the class barely seems worth selecting to me anymore...

Well I actually like the change to demoman. But thats because I don't like demomen and I always get killed by them. It seems like every where I go its "KERRRBOOOOOOOM!" Its the only class that seemed over powered to me. So I say GJ valve.

Does anyone know exactly what Tournament mode does? Is it just a form of new maps? Or is it for clans or what not when they do competitions or whatever?

I can see reducing the amount of stickys you can carry but not the amount of pipes. If anything needed nerfed it's that stupid scout scatter gun.

Amen to that. He's got crazy speed, caps points twice as fast as any character and can double jump. I think that's more than enough in his corner. The scatter gun is just a bit excessive.

I think it is nice that the scout was finally given some teeth, figuratively speaking.
Also, they should just have left the reserve ammo amounts alone, and maybe just decreased the amount of stickies that can be active at any one time to 6 (and reduce the magazine size to 6 as well). It is really hard to use the GL and leaving its ammo alone would be fine. Soldiers also go through rockets quickly, as it takes multiple rockets to kill any single target barring crits. I run out of ammo on 2fort before I make it to the enemy flag room as a soldier.

Valve may do a change in the next day or two because they mixed up the pipe bomb and sticky bomb reserve according to their update log. Pipe bombs should be at 24 and stickies at 16, but it's switched around in game.
Played some Soldier after the update and I'm definitely more aware of my ammo count, but I'm getting in the habit of using my Shotgun more when my enemy is in medium/long range to conserve rockets.

Ok, now this I can agree with. The stickies should be very limited in use and should be for tactical reasons. Stickie spam is just annoying and I am glad they cut down the amount a demoman could do with them. The pipe bomb thing should be left untouch and actually increased in my opinion. After reading more about it... The soldier should be left untouched or reduced to 30 rockets.
The only change I wish they made was to make it impossible for a spy to COLLIDE with anyone. This would make playing a spy much more favorable because people always hate it when it happens by chance.

Make sure you walk over the people you kill to get your ammo back!

Wow. That's pretty harsh on the sollys and demos. The squeaky wheel gets the grease again.
Pretty soon, the game will be totally fubar'ed by trying to "balance" the game for the whiners and crybabies.
