We don't KNOW to what extent the usefulness of Jarate on burning victims is, so until we do, stop freaking out. I'm a Pyro too, you don't see me going nuts over it :P
My first statement was badly put. Let me rephrase it more completely with its full intended nuance (as I was too lazy to do the first time).

My point was that they're placing a significant component of one of the Sniper's weapons at odds with the Pyro's main weapon. This is most likely going to result in a situation where a component of the Sniper's Jarate is largely without use or the Pyro suffers a nerf. Considering the Pyro's existing deficiencies, I feel that Valve shouldn't be doing this. Unless the class in hand actually deserves the nerf, such an action creates a lose-lose situation.
I've always considered the Pyro and Sniper to be the polar opposite of one another anyway, so I see nothing new here. The Pyro is the ultimate close-range death machine and the Sniper is the ultimate long-range death machine. In their elements, they're powerful, but outside their element, they're rather lost, and each will decimate the other in the appropriate range.
I just think that the Jarate is a little low brow... I mean, tf2 is silly, but that's just juvinile...
But after I eat my sandvich and drink some soda I need to pee and look! Valve added in a jar just for that.

But sniping has never been restricted to long range. I've always been a close-range combat sniper and it's quite effective. With the addition of the huntsman, it can only stand to become more effective. So long as it's not a scout, a headshot on someone three feet away is feasible for most skill levels if players would consider it standard over SMG.

I don't see an issue with urine since I've never considered the pyro dependent on afterburn. My flamethrower serves as a deterrent more than an actual weapon. It deters people from coming close and persuades them to run away. Most of my killing power comes from the shotgun or the ax follow-up.

Given the airblast pyro is focused on utility, I don't see that as a bad playing style for the pyro. The flame-centric focus comes in theory from the backburner.

Regardless of stance, though, I don't see something that puts out flames a large issue at all. Water on a map is far worse for pyros than one class who might react in time to save another (and as a result be one less class killing things for the duration). Given that it likely has some kind of cooldown and likely has some sort of aim that requires cooperation between players... it will likely be exceedingly rare.
That's because these are the first new items that counter a spy ability directly, while it's yet another one that counters a pyro ability, it does feel like every class upgrade nicks the pyro down a peg. That's why I said it dilutes more than nerfs.
Not to mention with this new update... the airblast will also put out friendlys on fire...... :x

Can you "Find" unlockables from other classes or do you have to be playing that class to "find" them?

play any class. eventually you will be able to pick them up off people who use them, but they are awarded completely randomally it seems.

i got cloak and dagger while i was playing as a spy, but most people who unlocked one of the new items were playing a completely different class

I picked up a FAN last night while playing sniper. This new loot system makes me sad.

I got the Razorback and Huntsman's Bow without doing anything last night.

Nacho helped us work out what was happening.
VALVe has apparently added new technology called Sense-o-Whine®. If you whine about not getting the new weapons, then it takes longer to get them.
We also noticed this happening to Guardian too.

So my only advice is to join a server, and do nothing.
Maybe taunt a little.
Perhaps jump up and down on the spot.
But just don't mention that you have no weapons.....

The only thing I found last night was the medic helmet. As I was the only one wearing a new hat it likely made identifying me much easier for the other team.

I got the tribal shield thing, what I consider to be the worst weapon ever made for TF2, and figured "What they hey? I'll give it a shot." So I walk out to the battlements, scope up to start shooting some stuff ... and get my head blown off by a Spy with the Ambassador. Couldn't defend myself though, because I had no SMG to shoot back with. Hurray for update \o/

I got a second backburner....which means I have two of them collecting dust now.

I was also the first person to get a weapon when I hopped on TV1. I take pride in that.
I am the 1%!
