Alright I think we need to talk about changing our map selection

Present map list:
* cp_freight
* cp_follower
* cp_waste
* cp_yukon

* ctf_avantiville
* cp_silvertrail
* cp_furnace

* pl_stovepipe
* pl_halfacre
* pl_mill

* ctf_camping_trip_b8
* ctf_chaos

* cp_desert_fortress
* arena_harvest

Our 5-point map selection is great and our payload selection is ok but I think we need to find some maps to replace the weak ones in othe.

I propose:

cp_silvertrail being replaced by cp_glacier

ctf_chaos being either replaced by:
ctf_Aurora: http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?ltr=A&t=7264 or ctf_timbertown: http://www.theville.org/viewtopic.php?t=12762

or perhaps both O.o

The arena custom being removed because it empties the server and I don't think many people left here like arena maps.

and finally

maybe pl_mill being replaced by pl_cashworks.... seriously it's an extremely popular payload custom.

Aurora has a nice idea, but it's not a map a random person can download and play with understanding. Also I think it's too small for 12vs12.

Is there anyway we can get my ctf map on here for some testing? It doesn't require a lot of people, and might actually be better with a smaller number of people. Just wondering, I can't really move forward with it unless I can play it.

Hmmm

I think your best bet is to talk to Silver/Mad hammer/An Admin, that can get your map on TV2/TVX and we can test it there.

My map should be ready within a month, i don't know if you would want that.

Well, should be at least playable in a month. Finished? Probably never.

By the way, I'm striking/struck a deal with Zwiffle for an off-site playtest before it goes on TheVille's servers.

Alright, I've talked to Nick and since Itchy has seemily been kidnapped by aliens, I'll be taking over his duties.

So here are some pending changes I'll been sending to silver:

-cp_silvertrail is being replaced by cp_glacier

-ctf_chaos is being replaced by ctf_Aurora

-The arena custom is being removed because it empties the server

and finally

-We'll add pl_cashworks and ctf_timbertown to the server but not the rotation for testing. We may decide later to add them to the rotation.

UPDATE: got word from Silver, customs are all ready. I'll start the seeding tonight with ctf_Aurora. Should be a fun night.

Ladeee approves Glacier. Keep it on the server.

Glacier is a pretty good map. I think it should stay.

Man, can't we keep an arena map? TV2 is the only server that has one. And if people don't like it they just won't vote for it.

The problem with that is people do vote for the Arena map.

And then they leave when the Arena map comes up.
"So what have you been up to, man? Haven't seen you in so long!"
"Ah, you know how it is. Doin' a lot of side projects, some consulting, maybe a little freelance... Those are words that people say when they haven't actually been doing anything, right?"

I don't think anyone who votes for the arena maps actually leave during it, unless you're suggesting there are TV2 saboteurs that come in to vote for arena maps then run off while everyone else plays them.

The arena maps do definitely drive some people away, and with maps able to win the vote with 21% of the vote . . .

The TV2 seeding has gone on way too late at night for me lately, I don't see anyone around until 10 or so VST weeknights. :(

The problem for me Pinko, is that I can't be on very early due to me living on the west coast and only being able to seed it 6-7 PST (due to work). If anyone wants to seed TV2 (aka join the server and spam invites to everyone in the seed group) before I arrive home, be my guest.

Also the arena map was removed because it was killing the server every time it came up, it only made sense to remove it.

As for the brand new maps, looks like ctf_aurora and cp_glacier are keepers, last night was pretty fun. Although I want to test them on a full server.

Also I think I might make a "seed list" as in maps we use to seed the server but are not in the rotation because it doesn't work well with full teams (cp_toy_fort)

I can try seeding around 7pm some weeknights, but it'll be spotty cause i can't guarantee what nights i'll be on. But i do love customs.

edit: that's 7 eastern / 6 central / 23h en temps universelle

I love customs, because it gives me a chance to play new maps with the fellow villuns I enjoy playing with. I can't spend much time playing TF2 over the summer though. Work is hitting me hard and my free time already spoken for. but I might be able to get into TV2 and let it go until the server takes off.
Once I get back to school I'll be around much more. :)
Friends made are never forgotten. Even if we grow apart or move on from this life, the fun times we spent together was all worth it.
