The BEST way to contribute to TheVille is by telling jokes. Really, we don't have enough comedians.
You know what bugs me? IHOP. Don't get me wrong, I love the place. They give you huge servings for a good price. I always end up taking extra pancakes home. So, I take them home and then the next day, I'm say to myself, "Pancakes two days in row? I must be dreaming!" So I warm the pancakes up, and I'm getting all excited. The microwave goes off, and I can smell them from a mile away. I sit down ready to eat, when it suddenly dawns on me...I don't have any syrup.

Post on the forums, partake in discussions (and learn to draw the line between a discussion, debate, and all out flame war), and submit content. See the guidelines threads and The Ville TOS for what should and should not be discussed and/or submitted as content.
Most importantly, be who you are. The uniqueness of the player base is what makes The Ville interesting. Bring to the table what you can, and don't worry about the rest. if you want to pick up a new skill, by all means. Do as you will.

There's an IHOP down the street from my house that went out of business. A new place opened up there and just took advantage of 3/4 of the sign that IHOP left behind on the front of the building. They named themselves the International House of Prayer. True story.

What an odd location for an ihop to begin with. I was under the impression that every ihop got its own little cottage shaped building. Which was funny when the ihop near my house went out of business and the cottage became a new chipotle. @_@
Alright, back to the topic on hand. It all comes down to the number of hours you put into not just games, but anything. And not just simple hours, but hours of playing and analyzing what you're doing right vs. what you're doing wrong. The learning process is a painful and humiliating one, with a lot more deaths than kills in your horizon, but you gotta keep at it.
Also, when you ask for help, try to be specific with your questions. A question like "how can I get better?" tends to be a lot harder to answer than a question like "when is a good time to uber?" or "what should I do as a *insert class* when we're being held at our last cap point?"
