Freedom Planet: The Sonic game I've always wanted.

Post by Guardian » Tue Aug 04, 2015 10:14 am

So I watched SGDQ 2015 (Summer games done quick) and a game the runner hyped up was Freedom Planet, indie game they dubbed, "The true spiritual successor to Sonic 3". It was a tall boost but after watching them play it, I got it myself and highly enjoyed it.

If you enjoyed the old sonic games I highly recommend it.

Anyone else play it?

I bought Freedom Planet some time ago and I love the game. It's one of the few games I've gone out of my way for 100% Steam Achievements on. It really does play a lot like Sonic, which shouldn't be a surprise as it started out as a Sonic fan game (elements of which you can still see in level design and Carol's gameplay) but there's more emphasis on combat. I also love the soundtrack, as if that's a surprise.

It's getting an update before the end of summer if the devs remain on schedule. They plan on making Torque and Spade playable characters and I've been really hyped to see them.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.

The soundtrack is one of the best parts of the game for sure!

Only really weak part of the game is the story they were trying to tell and even then I liked the main villian.
