I thought Tales from the Borderlands was going to be about how Jack's actions as President of Hyperion affected everyone on Pandora prior to the new Vault Hunters showing up.

You are correct. This is a different game.

Actually, Telltale said Tales from the Borderlands takes place after the events of Borderlands 2, including all the DLC released thus far.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel details Handsome Jack's rise to power prior to Borderlands 2, and how he wasn't always a bad guy, at least from what I heard. It also explains why Claptrap can't climb stairs in BL2 (see top comment):

As many of you may have already noticed, the game went up for preorder on Steam today.

With a 10% discount if you already own Borderlands or Borderlands 2.

Still looks dumb. I would like a borderlands 3, not a borderlands 0 or 1.5 or whatever this is.

Most of this looks like more of the same and the new stuff doesn't really interest me. I'll keep my eye on this for sure but at the moment i have no interest.

What if it still was a pre-quel, but they called it Borderlands 3?

Also, the changes look about as drastic as the jump from 1 to 2, which wasn't very drastic.
