Re: Katawa Shoujo
Lilly is the best route. Come at me bros.
In all seriousness, it really is a great (idk what to call it) game. I did not expect to get into it after trying it out. I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of trying it.

I probably should have put that in the OP yeah.Bronze Fox wrote:I could be wrong but I thought that game was like 18+?
Doesn't mean you can't disable them though, and still enjoy the game while your at it.

Re: Katawa Shoujo
Maybe you should edit your post Chihuahua to indicate that the content you are linking to is adult orientated since its rated 18+ and put a spoiler around the download link?
That being said, we discuss mature games here on the Ville all the time (TF2, BF3, etc), so something being mature orientated doesn't preclude it from being discussed. Normal forum rules still apply for that the discussion.
Obviously if something is pornographically orientated thats a no-no.
Going back to the discussion, looking at some of the screenshots it seems like it might be sort of a Phoenix Wright-ish text adventure type game. Is that accurate? I really enjoyed that series, Hotel Dusk, 999 on the DS. Would this game offer something similar?
999 was fantastic btw: http://ds.ign.com/objects/080/080555.html

It is a Visual Novel. To explain, Visual Novels are pretty much Books with visuals and some choices throughout the story.MateoTheBold! wrote:Going back to the discussion, looking at some of the screenshots it seems like it might be sort of a Phoenix Wright-ish text adventure type game. I have heard that it is a terrible terrible premise, turned into an arguably good game.

Pretty much, which is why I didn't describe the premise. To help you get over the premise, I have this.One_Medic_Army wrote:I have heard that it is a terrible terrible premise, turned into an arguably good game.

Re: Katawa Shoujo
premise sounds bad but it is treated with dignity and respect, so the game turns out really really good. The one thing i did not like about the game really was the fact that every girl had their own writer so Hisao had wildly different personalities depending on who you fallowed, and some of them are written better then others. Still a really awesome VN recommend it to everyone. I have played through all the endings, all the story lines, all the main characters, and Lilly was my favorite, with Rin being a close second.

"...also an eroge, though there is an option to disable the adult content."
"Hisao Nakai, a normal boy living a normal life, has it turned upside down when a congenital heart defect forces him to move to a new school after a long hospitalization. Despite his difficulties, Hisao is able to find friends - and perhaps love, if he plays his cards right."
"Despite the premise, the entire subject is handled very tastefully and the characters manage to break free not only from any stereotypes associated with their disabilities, but also from many of the typical Dating Sim cliches, resulting in a surprisingly well-written (and often emotional) tale."
Eh, here's the entire thing I was quoting.
