Wow, people won't buy the game because of this?
You people are weird, but I don't really care. I plan on getting this for the Xbox 360.

lol dude its not just that...
you cant make mods
as admin you cant set server rules
you cant customise servers
you cant have dedicated servers.
you have to connect to p2p to play
it runs thru 1 backbone (imagine the stress on it! 1k points says it crashes as soon as its launched)
I have heard a story where some dude made a stool in a bag, and UPS delivered it to Infinity ward.. lolol, now thats funny

It can hurt communities just like The Ville. Can you imagine how different this place would be if TF2 was set up like that?

AMEN BROTHER!

I've been playing CoD since the first one. The last one was really a disappointment.

Well I love how the game is set up, I always have. Except the last one was more linear than the rest. (Instead of choosing what way through town you want to go, you're stuck to one path) And the friendly fire pissed my off so much I raged quit a lot. I probably died over 200 times to friendly nades.
Re: Modern Warfare 2
I do feel kind of..."cheated". I mean, now PC gamers have to pay $60 for the exact same thing as console gamers? What's to say that this doesn't start some sort of trend? I mean, I'm going down a slippery slope here, but there IS a possibility that the price increases and removal of dedicated servers and mods might catch on. They pretty much removed what made the PC version the PC version. No dedicated servers means no more smoooth, non-laggy 32 man matches. IW apparently believes that auto-match equals balancing.
Additionally, why the increase in price? We're paying more for less...
With all that said, though, I'm hoping it won't take away from the single-player game nor will it take away from the special-ops mode. Multiplayer should still be the same (depending on who is hosting...).
But truth be told, as long as I have someway to play with my friends, then I can be happy...even if it will be laggy.

Well, if the experiment fails, then others won't emulate it.
From a massive gaming company evil overlords perspective, I can see how the lack of control on your game you get when depending on dedicated server ops is scary. If you control the servers, you control the game experience to a large extent, and that includes the ability to advertise and the ability to squash things you don't like.
