You're not worth my time anymore Shady. If all you want to do is throw ad hominems around instead of discussing my points, it's not worth talking to you.

As for you Iggy, I have yet to find anything over 700 dps 1h that goes for less than about 300k. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong times. Who knows. It still bothers me that I can not find actual upgrades through farming and have to rely on the AH to better my DPS. There should be a natural progression to gear. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to exist at this point. :\

I've also never found anything that I can sell for over about 25k, so selling and buying what I want on the AH is pretty much out of the question for me too. Maybe my luck is just that poopy, who knows.

My lucky rabbits foot has been helping me out so far with the AH. Picked up a 717 with lots of stats for 50k (Dex / Vit / Health On Hit / Attack Speed).

Most of my rares I sell for 20-25k, they don't always sell the first time, but the ones I have been put back up for a second they go.

Definitely slowed down my Inferno progress immensely and have been skipping some packs.

Well, what I think is soon going to become some of the best farming, is sadly just goldfind farming. Apparently with around 250 goldfind you can hit around 400k an hour breaking pots somewhere in Act 1 Inferno.

As for the AH, just every time I log in or am leaving a game I make a quick sweep. If your price range is low the best you can do is filter by a buyout of 100k and then sort it in descending dps. Something is likely to show up for a decent price. Luck definitely plays a pretty huge part in it though, really the only high value things you can find in act 1 are rings and amulets. Less than a week ago I got about 2.3 million from an act 1 amulet, that was after the AH tax too.

My guess is the Royal Crypts. Tons of urns there to smash.

Well, I finally broke down and bought the game. I'm currently sitting on a level 7 wizard and a level 13 Demon Hunter in ACT 1.

Without any spoilers, any overall tips you guys can give for the class? Earlier I asked how you guys have handled excess magicals/rares and keyes advised selling rather then crafting.

At these early levels, it seems like I am having better success crafting them for essence, upgrading the blacksmith and crafting them into magical items at the blacksmith.

When you start finding better magical items, is it then worth it to sell them for money? Do the more advanced magical items produce more essence?

As far as magicals/rares what I tend to do is set a value (generally 200gold in early game). Anything worth more I sell, anything worth less I smash.
The value gets changed if I have too many/not enough materials, or in different difficulty levels.

As to general tips:
turn on "advanced tooltips" and "elective mode"
"elective mode" lets you assign any skill to any button, rather than being limited to a single category. You could, for instance, have two signature spells/hatred generaors, two secondaries, etc. By Inferno I tend to have 2+ defensive skills equipped at all times.

The community in a whole right now is pretty disappointed that this is really the only way to get through infernal. There have been MANY detailed articles about D3 vs D2 in this nature.

After switching from my monk (who I have spent about 1million gold on at this point) to my DH (who I have spent nothing on, just found items and a freebie crossbow from my cousin), I can say this:
Inferno is much easier as a ranged class, so much easier.

I've been teaming up with a guy I met in-game. He's glass canon DH and I'm tank monk. Been working pretty well in infernal.

Was just about to post that. It's pretty nice for everyone as the drops across the board are going to be a bit higher. Which means I don't think Im going to be building a goldfind set.

Actually this patch sounds really awesome, I had only read the item table change and was pumped. But mobs not gaining damage in multiplayer games and easier act 2 3 and 4 sounds pretty nice.

However I really need to get in gear and try to beat Diab before these changes, really want to beat him before he's nerfed in any way.

The best change in there in my opinion is that you are no longer punished for playing multiplayer. Honestly, the scaling damage on mobs made playing MP disadvantageous over just being a lone wolf. Really happy to see that change.

I'm not the only one who didn't want to play MP because of the difficulty? Phew...
I thought two people was still enjoyable but once you got three or four it really wasn't fun anymore.

Duo is actually the hardest to play in MP. With 3-4 people you can actually have someone break off to rez someone. With a duo, once someone is down they are usually corpse running because there is no way the other person can break off to rez them.

I can understand why the damage increase was there. In theory it was to balance the fact that you could nerf mob damage into oblivion, IE stacking monk/wd passives. However, in practice it really doesn't work like that because you won't always have multiple classes with a 20% damage debuff and even if you do there is no guarantee that they are running it. Unless you have a group designed for hobbling mobs the damage increase really just wasn't offset properly by skills.
