All right, disregard everything I said below the equal sign; turns out, all those leaked screenshots and GIFs are from an entirely new IP by the creators of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. It's called Bloodborne, and my, does it look really dark and gloomy. Knowing From Soft, it's also likely to be just as difficult as the Souls series.

As you may know, Hidetaka Miyazaki – who was the director of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls – was absent from the development of Dark Souls II. He was working on a different project, however. If the rumour is to be believed, and the pictures below do look pretty legitimate, the screenshots in the link below might be that of a new Souls game, possibly a sequel to Demon's Souls. Right now, though, it's simply referred to as Project Beast, similarly to how Dark Souls was known as Project Dark during its development. (There was a character in the game called the Old One that was also referred to as the Beast.)

Here's a video about the screenshots (excuse the language in some parts):
Mind you, if this is true, Demon's Souls II would be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, just like how the first game was a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
Edit
I just saw this video by VaatiVidya that, I think, bests explains the whole thing:

Re: Rumour: Possible New Souls Game; Link to Screenshots
That would actually get me to buy a PS4 if it were real.
Though I'd be sad about it, and feel like a jerk for caving.

Re: Project Beast (Working Title); Possible New Souls Title?
Well, if pictures aren't enough, the article below shows what are supposedly leaked footage of Project Beast:

P.S. I reworked the title to include the actual working title.

Re: Bloodborne, New Game by From Software
Here's a breakdown of what to expect in Bloodborne by VaatiVidya:
Here, he explains that though the core gameplay mechanics – and even the interface – of the Souls games remains intact, some changes have been made for Bloodborne. For example, instead of using shields to block enemy attacks and wait for openings, you now have to be more aggressive and use your gun to put your foe at a vulnerable state, where which you can then perform a riposte. (Guns in this game are meant to be close-range off-hand weapons, not unlike parrying daggers and other similar weapons in the Souls series.)
VaatiVidya also explains the story backdrop of Bloodborne: It takes place in a dark city in a pseudo-Victorian setting, where a disease is turning humans into beasts, somewhat akin to Undeath and Hollowing in Dark Souls.
Just a heads-up, though: Sony is co-developing Bloodborne alongside From Software so, therefore, this is gonna be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
