GArry's MOd Server?

I like the ville because of the way the community expects it's players to play.

My son has become smitten with GArry's Mod, and wants to get out there and multiplayer it up...

Does anyone know of any of any places that treat players similar to here, but host a Garry's Mod server?

Let me know..

Also.. ug, my G15 has started SQUEAKING when I type. What's up with that??

I have Garry's Mod, the one time I played a multiplayer game it was..... weird. I'll stick with professionally done MFPS games. I couldn't tell ya which servers are good.

Yeah, the Gmod community is pretty weird to say the least.

Honestly i didn't play many servers, but of all i played they were nothing like the ville

Bummer. He is relentlessly asking me if anyone has responded to this thread; I am going to assume that there aren't really any 'safe' servers for him to mess around on and go from there.

You really have to do trial and error with Garrys Mod. What really helps is snuglling up close with an admin, so you can report any griefers etc. This will help cleanse the server, and the admin might just show you some good servers.

EDIT - I just got admin powers on a server, the only problem is that its passworded, and the server admin likes changing it alot.

P.S. Tell your son to add me on his steam friends, and I will introduce some good servers to him.

Some of the biggest laughs I've had playing an online game have been while playing GMod. I've gotten pretty good at taking people out by throwing my objects.

We should have GMod fun nights.

I've made much more sophisticated cannons since last we played, B. See me on sometime and I'll show you my latest. Doesn't seem to launch as far, but it's mobile, and looks awesome.

Have to freeze it with the physgun to fire it though, or it launches itself across the map and the stuff in the barrel just falls out

A friend of mine and I made a series of BattleXXXX objects. First it was BattleCouch which had wheels and turrets. Then I made BattleOffice which was a full office with desk, computer, chairs, etc. on top of a mobile dumpster. Oh yeah, it had turrets as well.

My favorite was spawning a skyscraper and throwing it at him. Good times.

Garry's Mod is a really good game. I think the servers should come back because its a lot more fun multi player.

As far as I remember, it went well for a time, and then just kinda died out in popularity. I remember buying it, playing it a couple of times, getting nowhere fast, and then never going back again.

I have Garry's Mod to but I just do single player. I have tried a couple servers and they all lagged a lot even tho the ping was at 50 and you are usually limited a lot on what you can spawn ( ie. 5 ragdolls max, 15 balloons max, 1 vehicle).
