Played Magic the Gathering a lot when I was a lad. Kjeldoran Royal Guard was one of the cards. I adopted the literary version of Kjeldorian, a typo in one of the books. Have used the same name since around 2000. Prior to that, I was SumDumGuy.

Long names are sexier, right TYO? :D
I have a butt and you do too. Let's be friends.

It has been a long time for the topic. It's sad that Kate started it asking me why "Renegade" and I never saw it. Now my friend Kate has retired from TVR.
Websters Dictionary : A deserter from one cause or allegiance to another. An individual who rejects lawful or conventional behavior.
Hum ? Why did I pick that name?...........

My name is George and I am a professional DJ

I had two old ones, both from Battle Tech (Mechwarrior for those of you who only know the computer version) It is the two names for one of my 2 favorite mechs -

Mine is often misinterpreted. People think I am a fanboy of Yahoo!! search engine, but actually it isn't related to that at all. I just play along with the joke for fun.

My first online game was Starcraft (I was young and stupid, I didn't even know TFC existed, but I really enjoyed Starcraft) and I was searching for a name, one of my friends said to call myself Yahoo!! due to the excitement I had at the time. Ever since then, in every single game I have played online or forum, it has been a variation of yahoo.

Also, I found Yahoo to be a cheerful name.

It just stuck

Back in the golden days of TFC llamas plaqued the ville and you could turn them into llamas, I don't remember my screen name back then... But as a joke I became llama beans and my friend who introduced me to the game because Dahli LLama, and his room mate had a llama name too. Well it kind of stuck from that point on.
I remember something like this was on the old forum, and I really enjoyed reading about it....

So, [you], why/how did you pick your particular In-Game name or screen name (whatever you like to call it) ??
So I realized I was asked this and a month later, I actually see it. Well anyways, mulisha is what my brother used years ago and when I started playing, I just adopted it and it's been that way for something like 9 years now.

Way back in the day of CS 1.somethin I used to play as Wetwilly (as in the guy from World Industries Skateboards, yeah it was a loooong time ago), and some guy called me a Shifty F***er after I stabbed him in the back. It turned into ShiftyDevil, then sometime later I shortened it down to just Shifty.

Whenever someone finds out that my name isn't Jim, James, Jimbabwe, or anything of the sort, people always ask: Why?

The answer is boring.
You see, I was signing up for my first forum ever (also, the place where I first met Buzzy) in about...2003, I think. Well, whenever I would register, it wouldn't go through. So I started using throwaway names. And then, one went through: Captain_Jim. And it just started to grow on me (Some people call me Jim in real life now). After a while, I dropped the clunky Underscore and became Captain Jim. It was all just luck, I guess. There was a chance I could have been Mr_Bob.

The funny part is when people come up with theories on my name. Some people seem to think it's a Star Trek reference (to Captain James T. Kirk, known to his friends as Jim), while others think it's from an old Shel Silverstein poem of the same name. Again, the truth is much more boring.

Ok, sure. I'll bite.

While I am surprised that alot of people don't understand my name for what it is, I really shouldn't be. Quite a few people even think that Buzzy Beetle is a real insect. It's not, and it's not a reference to alcohol either.

It's a nod to how much of a fan of the Mario games, albeit a bit of an obscure nod.

Image Buzzy Beetles have been around since the original Mario, and since then not a whole lot has changed about them. The more modern designs have given them a blue shell rather than a black shell, but aside from that they're still what they were over twenty years ago.

Image They are cave-dwelling enemies and are among the select few that are nearly impossible to truly kill. Aside from the invincibility power up, you cannot stop a Buzzy Beetle as it is immune to Mario's fireballs. Kicking it down a pit is another way to stop them, but if logic holds true in the Mushroom Kingdom, then no pits are truly bottomless, and being kicked into one is mostly an inconvenience at best.

Also, Buzzy Beetles are just darn cute =3.

Image As a bit of bonus trivia, my computer is called Buster Beetle is also a Mario reference to an even MORE obscured enemy that only appeared in Super Mario Brothers 3 for the NES. Buster Beetles are like Buzzy Beetles in appearance, but where Buzzy Beetles have no attack .script (they just keep walking along on the ground, walls, or ceilings) Buster Beetles are unable to climb and are capable of throwing blocks at Mario. They are also not fire immune.

So there's your retro video game lesson for the day.
Played Magic the Gathering a lot when I was a lad. Kjeldoran Royal Guard was one of the cards.
Oh I have fond memories of that card... When my friend and I were new to the game my friend had a combo with that card that would completely shut down my elf deck. Don't play Magic anymore though.

Anyway, my first online name was in Starcraft by the name of alta1. At the time I didn't know that alta was the feminine version of "tall" in Spanish. So anyone that knew some Spanish connects the dots that it can read as "tall one". I had that name a long time ago; when I switched to abiscuit that name stuck.

Some of you already read why my name came to be, but here it is again.

My name's an inside joke between my friends and I when we used to play Magic: the Gathering. Whenever one of us helped another get revenge on someone for whatever reason, we would "reward" each other with the first random object that came to mind. Eventually someone gave me a biscuit as a reward and that just stuck with me for whatever reason, which would later evolve to different flavors of biscuits. So when thinking of online names, biscuits kept coming to mind because of this inside joke. Now I make it a point to make it my screen name for any game, forum, internet whatever I go to.

My name was inspired, in part, by a TV commercial.
