Post by [Pug Patrol] Pimpin Fred » Fri Jan 04, 2008 11:48 pm

THis map was played for a bit on TV IV tonight and it is pretty buggy, other players be warned. To quote some of the other players on the map "it's like I am on acid, but I'm not"
I need a new sig.

I think it has potential, but the framerates need to be optimized. The idea of the map is great and will be a lot of fun once it's fixed up in places.

Still a fun map though.

It was pretty fun. Needs more scary though, maybe zombies, and definately optimized. Being outside and the skyboxes really creeped me out, but I'm sure it could be done so that it's so scary I would never want to play it again ^_^

I did like the inside/outside idea, but it really benefits the classes which have jump advantages, (i.e. scout, solider, demoman) and the outside was very CS_Rats ish, which is always a good thing in my mind.

Thanks for the feedback, I relayed all this to the mapper.

For us, it's hilarious because we spent so much time in the actual place, but for people who have not been to the actual house, it's just a strange map. :D

The room with all of the soldiers (phantom) is one of the scenes I created at the house and is exact in this map. I built 4 dummies in each corner, the live actor dressed just like the dummies, you never knew which one was going to get you. Worked amazingly well!

And although, sadly, the Nightmare Factory is no more, it has been immortalized in a map....I like that
:D

...unless you have plans to resurrect....?

Anyway, I liked the map and with some fixing it could be a good map!!

Yeah, it was sad to see the old girl go the way she did. It's all packed up in a storage unit for now. We've tossed around ideas about bringing her back, but it takes quite a lot of $ to restart it. We'll see, maybe someday.
