The corner of death?

Post by [BIO] The German » Mon Nov 26, 2007 9:11 pm

Apparently building a dispenser next to the entrance in the northeast corner of the c capture point area of Gravel Pit results in yourself committing suicide.

My suspicion is that this is Valve's 'fix' for the bug on that map where people managed to get below the world, though apparently that 'fix' is running a bit rogue.

:p

It's still slightly aggressive - I was at least 2 meters away from the evil corner :)

If it happens again, type status in the console and let us know what the xyz coordinates are. The coords we put in for the death should be that sensitive.... you should be right at the wall, but we can take a look at it.

As far as aggressive, I would rather it be that way than to have people getting under the map. Until Valve fixes, which I imagine will be with the next update, this is our answer. We banned countless people when this was discovered, so please hang in there with us while we wait for valve.

I thought Valve fixed that exploit in the last patch anyway?

Yep.
They were supposed to but then they were supposed to the update before that too.
So rather than take any chances, we are scanning the exploit blogs and if it looks like it's gone, then we'll remove it.

Yep...it is a tad too strong...but I'll look at it again!
