Next Reset?

We're over day 680 now and was wondering if/when the next reset will be. Also, are the profiles going to be persistent?

Hello there! If the majority of our regular players are feeling like it's time for a reset, I think that would be reasonable, and we could arrange to make it occur in the near future. Day 680 is definitely getting pretty late in the game, so to speak!

With regard to persistent profiles, I've heard that to mean two things - the first being that you carry over your character/XP/skills from previous, and the other being that you can't re-create a new character on the same server once you've connected. We definitely do not do the first of those things - all players start new when the server is restarted. The second thing is an anti-griefing/anti-trolling thing, so we have sometimes had it on, but I believe we have it off right now and are monitoring to ensure no trouble starts as a result. So long as people play nice, I think we're riding with the ability to restart on the server if desired.

A18 is out in experimental, just wondering if everyone will want to play it instead of A17, and if the server will be set to A18 ?

We'll see how it goes as far as what people want to play. If folks want A18, we'll re-reset to A18! If it needs a few days for them to iron out the glitches in the new patch though, that might not hurt. There are definitely a couple of things that need addressing, with the inability to craft lower-tier equipment once you skill up (which is highly relevant now that higher-tier stuff requires more parts) being a significant concern. Still - I'd definitely like to move in to A18 as soon as we're comfortable with it!

Stevo is awesome, and has put in a bunch of work this afternoon to get the server up and running again with a new map, this time with working zombies!

I found the source of the problem and removed it. It was part of the server management mod that I wrote and didn't play well with the new version of the game. So I also get credit for breaking the server.
