Spin the Beat has been GREENLIT!

I got a surprise email tonight telling me that my game, Spin the Beat, has been Greenlit for sale on Steam! I'm still pretty shocked to be honest, but also obviously incredibly excited!

Apparently it's among the final wave of games to ever be Greenlit as the Greenlight system is being officially retired, to be replaced on June 13 with Steam Direct, which is basically the "submit directly to Valve and hope for approval" system that existed prior to Greenlight. It sounds like a better system to be honest - Greenlight was kind of a dumping ground for terrible ideas and asset flips by the end. Here's hoping Valve's decision to once again go hands-on with the approval process will help serious indies to get their games on Steam faster and keep the trash at bay.

Look forward to an official Steam release in the coming days! Those of you who previously bought the game on itch.io will receive Steam keys as soon as I can figure out how to do that.

The Steam Store page is LIVE! Just a couple more days to go until the game itself launches on Steam.

Due to an unforeseen last-minute technical issue with the Steam version of Spin the Beat, the official release has unfortunately had to be pushed to sometime next week rather than today as planned.

Fortunately, this means I'll have a bit more time to apply polish to a content update that I'm aiming to ship shortly after launch - and it may even be able to ship with the game when it first launches on Steam! Once this issue is out of the way, it should be smooth sailing. Stay tuned!

There are keyboard controls for player 1 only, but they're not officially mentioned anywhere as they're technically not an official feature - I originally put them in for testing purposes and decided to leave them.

WASD - Movement / Menu navigation
Space - Jump / Confirm
Left Shift - Push Attack
Escape - Pause / Back (on main menu)
Backspace - Back (on menus)
