...what changes to the game rules should we make?

I have fixed the plugin and the bug that caused the crash after the Scout update.
I know I am five years too late!

But I thought I'd fix it up, so we can use it for fun nights (not a permanent server).
I know TF2 has PASS Time but it is not the same mode. It is more like rugby/US Football!
I also noted that Bad Robot "created" the new mode and their ball also fills up health and ammo. Funny that.

Anyway.
I have updated the Cube so that it slowly fills up ammo and health (rather than instant health and ammo like before)
I also added a couple of visual effects.

But I need game rules.

For example, do we turn on Highlander mode (one of each class)
or
limit the teams to scouts (unlimited), pyros (2), sollys (unlimited), snipers (1), Heavies (1), Medics (1), Engineers (1), Demo (unlimited), Spies (1)

Limiting Engineers and Heavies is important as they have a tendency to slow stuff down big time and a Heavy at the Cube is hard to push off or three Heavies at the Goal makes it impossible to score.
It has been pointed out to be on countless occasion that Snipers have no place in the game as they can't push the Cube...my argument for one might be that they can control the heavy+medic team.
Spies also cannot push the Cube with their weapons and so I'd limit them to one as well.

So I am open to new ideas for changing the game mode!

Oh for those Villuns who have no idea what Cube Soccer is, this thread and Stevo's video will show you what we used to do around here! Cube Soccer was a plugin for TF2 collaboratively designed and built by TheVille in 2008.

Aw yes one of the first games in the Porkys Cup Series. I always enjoyed it even when people didnt cause it was goofy and chaos which I love. I think limit it like you said. Maybe only 3 scouts max

If we're just using it for Ville events and such, rather than a public server, I don't know that we need any particular restrictions. Let the teams play!

My only concern is there were a few who were vehemently opposed to snipers and they were Villuns...one was an admin nonetheless!

Aye - we had a few rows over it back in the day! Some said targeting of players should be outright forbidden, others not, etc. So long as points are only scored by the ball going in the net, the tactics will sort themselves out!

A big thank you to all those who showed up tonight for the play test.
We learned many things:
  • There are still a few bugs
  • TF2 hasn't changed and Cube Soccer is still not fun
  • I miss my Ville buddies
  • CheckM8 and Sparky pwn me

  • We set it to one class only e.g. all Scouts
  • We set it to four classes - Demos, Soldiers, Scouts and Heavies
  • We get rid of the uber at the Cube

Definitely agree with getting rid of the uber at the cube, but I like keeping all 9 classes available. In the end, I'd still like to keep it as much TF2 as possible, and if we start removing classes entirely it's not as much TF2.

You do have a point.
And the Uber thing has been commented out :lol:

I have no clue why the multiple trails and wacky lights happened bu I'm guessing it's related to the Uber.
I'll upload a new version later this week.
