Nice write up! Here's another Ville Cup Pro Tip: Draft Checkm8 for his team banner making skills.

I bet there was more to Daryl's message, but his internet dropped it. This is the text equivalent of 900 ping.

This just in: A rare transcript of Martin Luther King, Jr. giving a speech over Daryl's internet has been found. The full text is as follows:

Re: Leading To Victory in TVC
Inner makes good points.
From my perspective:
Being a captain isn't bad if you draft appropriately. Just make sure you are never down a core class player each week. If I saw that my best drafted scout planned to be out for 2 weeks, I made sure my other classes, like demo, had the best drafted player ready to go! It seemed to balance out well for my team last year. We were never fully "strong" each week. We merely had the right people in the right classes.
After you have your team, talk to them all individually. Get to know them a little bit. I know that sounds like the stuff rainbows are made of but it works well. It makes communicating much more relaxed and conversational. I never once had to nag anyone to show. Well, it was tough to get people into practices on weeknights, I'll admit that. But, for the games, we always had an extra person or two. I did, however, take the ol' JD approach. I more or less coached than played. I sat out a good many matches to let all my teammates enjoy their first ville cup. This made captaining a bit easier because I could manage my folks while they fragged.
Next, get a co-captain/lieutenant immediately.... if you can. Siegfried was awesome as my right-hand man last year. I could plan and organize each week while he "strategized". Granted, the entire team helped with the strategy during practice but his forum participation helped a bunch as well. He also helped run the show during the matches while I would sit out with our subs making sure they were ready for the next half.
Lastly, forums.... forums.... forums. USE THEM! Communication is clutch and the forums are, you guessed it, FREE! Someone through a statistic somewhere last year with each team's forum thread count and post count. I am pretty sure the teams that made the finals topped both of those categories. Sure sure... correlation doesn't always mean causation... but here IT DOES darn it. So, use'em and use steam's groups. These are good for reminders for the practices and matches.
