Re: The History of "The Ville"
Wow! I just read this post and massive nostalgia. Seeing people I remember playing with in the year 2000
I don't know if you guys remember me but had two man names my old one <TVB> anthrex and nubber most recently. I am so glad this community is still going I'll drop by since I have a computer again!

Re: The History of "The Ville"
Interesting read...
To contribute something of history... I think the first Ville fantasy football league was in 2002. "Footballville". I commished it on yahoo, and "Whatever's Doomguard" (Whatever = manager) won the championship, beating "Da Winners" (Sean M)
2003 The "Las Vegas Thunder" (Frag, if I'm not mistaken) won it over the Foreskin Fumblers (genji)
2004 The "Belgian Waffles" took the championship 115.99 to 71.65 over Supergreg

Yes... Mrs Keyes. Is there something you aren't telling us Cpt. Keyes?

Eater of Potatoes, since 2008.
I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you.

Re: The History of "The Ville"
Since Spam has been away for some time, I took the liberty of updating the first post with:
Additional Ville Cup information (credit: Stevo, Coyote, Flash)
USV founding information (credit: kk, Chen)
There was stuff in this thread even I hadn't seen, and I fancy myself a bit of a wonk for such stuff. I'll try to dig through and find other tidbits to add from what folks have said, and will do my best to keep the thread updated with new info if it's posted.
Gonna see if I can get in touch with Black Hawk/Chef George to inquire about whether that NS cup ever got off the ground. ND appears to have been an official guild at that point (they had a forum here), so if they were running something by that name, it would be a real cup in my book. I also know there was a second cup in one of those years... 2007 or 2008... that I have the records for. It was won by Veggies of Vengeance, under v.o.c and was so that both an older game and a newer game could have cups.
