Re: Kerbal Space Program
Also managed to have some success at long last getting to the Mun and back.

But happily, after *mumblemumble* attempts, I got a nice soft landing!:
Jebediah jumped around the surface for a bit, got a sample or two, then returned back to Kerbin for 243 science. I think Minmus should be next!

There is a lot of wasted power. .. power requirement increases as a cube to the speed of an object moving through a fluid

Remember that they may not all be firing at once - you can make a fairly efficient rocket using SRBs, if you stage them appropriately so they only fire as needed for a proper acceleration curve. It's not ideal, but it isn't always bad.

I think it's typically a bad idea to use SRBs outside atmo.Alizée Fan wrote:Remember that they may not all be firing at once - you can make a fairly efficient rocket using SRBs, if you stage them appropriately so they only fire as needed for a proper acceleration curve. better be damn sure of your math if you let an SRB off in orbit

Re: Kerbal Space Program
nah, I just use it as a cheap way to kick me out of kerban's gravity well and fall around the sun to get to the outer planets. no math calculations requiredCpt._Keyes wrote:better be damn sure of your math if you let an SRB off in orbit
