Re: Random Video Game Music
Ok, I lied about FFXI music for now, found another game worth mentioning that more people need to play. Skies of Arcadia, if you haven't played this game, I suggest going out and buying a Dreamcast or Gamecube just to do so. Easily one of the best RPGs of the late 90's/early 2000's and some pretty epic music to go along with it.
2021 EDIT: Fixed links
Theme of the Delphinus
Boss Battle Theme (what's awesome about this track, in-game the pace of the music matches the state of the battle; if you're winning, the theme is upbeat and victorious, while if you're losing, the theme turns tense and dramatic.)
The Kingdom of Ixa'taka
Bombardment (Ship to Ship combat)
Military Factory-style Dungeon
Armada Battle (the boss theme that plays when you square off with Valuan admirals)
Honestly, I need to find and buy this soundtrack, it's not on iTunes.

Re: Random Video Game Music
Did you know that both the Pokemon games and the Pokemon anime have their own pages under the "Ear Worm" section of TVtropes? It's true and I agree with the game section; nearly every song in the series is hummable in a way. But I don't have any Pokemon themes to provide this time.

Re: Random Video Game Music
I mentioned Final Fantasy 11 tracks a few posts back. Given the vast number of tracks, for this round i'll only post one from each expansion (with Classic having an exception, for pride reasons). I'm also beginning to think i'm the only one who cares for this thread. A sad prospect.
Classic: The Federation of Windurst (my original home nation)
Classic: Castle Zvahl Keep
Rise of the Zilart: Ru'Ann Gardens
Chains of Promathia: Onslaught
Treasures of Aht Urghan: Ulutations From Beyond
Wings of the Godess: Run Maggot Run
Abyssea Collection: Scarlet Skies, Shattered Plains
Classic: The Federation of Windurst (my original home nation)

Re: Random Video Game Music
The Smash Bros discussion has caused me to play through the sound test and listen to tracks again. Here's a few of my favorites. Given the sheer amount of music, i'm limiting to one per franchise and all of these tracks are flagged as "not original", the cases of original music i'll post elsewhere as they appear in their respective games.

Re: Random Video Game Music
Here we go again.
Monday Night Combat: Chicky Cantor's theme
Super Meat Boy: The Battle of Lil' Slugger
Metal Gear Solid 3: Clash with Evil Personified
City of Heroes: The Crash Site (Rikti War Zone)
Super Mario Galaxy: Sweet Sweet Galaxy (I'm pretty sure this exact theme has also been recycled for Galaxy 2 and 3D Land)
Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land: Rainbow Resort (remastered from the NES version for the GBA port)
Contra 4: Jungle
Donkey Kong Country 2: Krook's March
And for the real old school gamers, I present easily one of the best uses of the classic Game Boy's sound chip:
X: Tunnel Scene
Monday Night Combat: Chicky Cantor's theme

Re: Random Video Game Music
The Tunnel Scene theme was included with Brawl, but remixed. The original game came out in 1992, and only came out in Japan. The game was acctually one of Kazumi Totaka's first games, and is currently the earliest game known with his signature 19-note melody (this game came out before Mario Paint). The reason it plays on Lylat Cruise is because the game was originally planned by Argonaut Software, the crew that worked on Star Fox. Nintendo bought the idea from them because they were in favor of a fully 3D game for the Game Boy.
Or something like that.

Still finding good stuff to add. Though it's getting to the point where i'm skimming my ROM lists for my emulators for ideas.
2021 EDIT: Links fixed
Mother 3: Wasteful Anthem (It's Smashing Song of Praise without a couple of the lighter bits)
Contra 3: The Old Cyber Steel Mill
Pac in Time: The Mountains
Pilotwings: Rocketbelt theme
Urban Strike (Genesis): Title music
NHL '95 (Genesis): Title/Menu Music
Sonic Crackers: Attraction Stage (for those wondering, this was a very early alpha rom that was leaked. The game was never released, but the game's concept of having two characters tethered became the game known as Knuckles' Chaotix for 32X)
Tecmo Super Bowl (NES): Playoffs Theme 1
Zero Wing (Genesis): Stage 1 (this is the game that started the "All your base..." meme when it was ported to EU Megadrive)
R-Type 3: Stage 1
Super R-Type: Solo Sortie
Wing Commander (Amiga?): Main Theme
