Post by bullwinkle » Tue Jul 24, 2007 10:40 pm

ok i have held out as long as i could and im finally getting an IPOD :o :o It's on its newegg as we speak, but i was wondering if any of u knew any good mods, accesories, ect. to help out. Also i think i read somewhere that an older version of itunes might be less of a hassle to work with, any suggestion?

Iv'e never upgraded my itunes, i'm afraid to.

The only accessory I got for mine was an FM transmitter so I can listen to it in my vehicle.

My brother has one and got a clock radio thing you can plug it into and it has really good sound, I've been thinking of getting one of those myself.

YESS!!

I update my iTunes and i have no issues...i think it's easier than what people make it seem to be.

One thing I would get is the number one thing a case. a radio/alarm clock for it. personally i have the ihome. 3rd if you have a car get the new dashes with an av plug and have them install that so you can listen to your ipod without getting those horrible fm trasmitters. i have the av plug to the ipod for my car and i LOVE it.

I also advise u to get an iHome alarm clock radio, i love it. I leave it overnight to recharge and in the morning i take it off and go to school. im using a DLO action jacket which is pretty good and convenient if u like running or u could just clip it to ur waistband DLO action jacket

If u have a tape player in ur car u should get a cassete adapter which will work for any MP3 FM transmitters suck.

i have a Cd player that will play mp3 cd's.. i'm too poor to buy an ipod and for what i use it for ( in my car) i see no benefit to it. i spend $15 and get a 100 stack of CD's and voila, theres 70gb of storage

I have the 60gb Video. I update itunes and Ipod firmware every time it comes out... whats the big deal? I heard you can die in car crashes but I still go driving.

First thing I'd say to buy is a case... or something like it, to protect the screen. I havent used it but iSkin looks good enough. Alot of the cases are bulky.

The FM transmitters suck! But I also live in the city. I have to put it right next to my radio and even then its very static-y.

I have the iHome as well, its a gem. Go to sleep and wake up with my ipod and podcasts! I have the black one with the remote. so i can be getting dressed and change the songs and volume.

If you don't want to carry it around in a case but still want to prevent it from getting scratched, then you can try getting one of the clear plastic films (like the PowerSupport Crystal Film).

well it came in the other day and so far so good, took it for a test bike ride the other day and is just what i needed. got a clear maxell case/wristy band from work, and had a cassette tape adapter from my CD player from the car. noe if it only played vid files not in .mp4 (takes forever to convert large files). speaking of my bike ride, i get about half way down the bike path and run into some world gaming championship thing in the middle of some stripmall parking lot. woulda went and entered the GR2 tourney if i knew it was going on. lol. to bad there were no computer games tho.

DVD Shrink is completely free (and it's great for making backups of your personal DVD Movies)

But because of some laws you can't get it directly from their site, but I believe they provide Mirrors to dl it from.
