TF2 Custom Map Night Wednesdays!

For those few of you that may have missed the thread in the Custom Server sub-forum, we would love for you to join us in a extremely loosely organized TF2 Custom Maps Night every Wednesday at 9PM VST.

Yes, we all love Dustbowl and Warpath, but a nice little changeup can be quite refreshing! So join us on TV2!

For Week 2 (Wednesday, April 4), we're planning to try 4 PL maps:
PL_Borneo
PL_Manngrove
PL_Alpen
PL_Haste

We don't all love Dustbowl, some of us believe it's one of the worst maps out there... Warpath on the other hand is da bomb! I will be there on Wednesday to try out some new maps with ya!

Thanks for turning out tonight, folks! It was a lot of fun, I am not sure if any of the maps we tried belong in the rotation, but it was fun to get everyone together to give them a whirl. We will do this again next week, maybe with some new maps to try!

Request: can we not leave en masse as soon as whatever map we're testing is over? The server might actually keep going if we didn't loose half the players all at once.

Was fun because of/in spite of the "OMG this map is weird" factor. But yeah, everyone bailed and I was sad.

I had fun. In my defense, I didn't leave because the server went back to its normal rotation with Observatory, but because I had stuff to do before bed. I should have logged off sooner, but wanted to see all the new maps.

Of those four new ones, I think Borneo was the best.

Manngrove has potential but seems too defensible at the midpoint, and is probably laggalicious for those with slower machines.

Alpine I think it was had that unfortunate glitch with the door stopping the cart. It had lots of weird angles too and was only moderately sniper-friendly.

Haste seemed to have too many paths - it was far too easy to flank the cart from either side. It might make a better CP map than PL.

I enjoyed the new maps, but I hope that next week we don't do all one one type of map... Doing payload for hours can get a bit dull.
