No, it's the 3rd seat for the tank. It makes tanks better AA vehicles then the mobile AA vehicles.

How was I unaware of this? Honestly, I think we need more vehicles to fit up to 4 players so we can get some nice squad action going in this game.

It needs teamwork between precisely 2 people. The guy in the seat, and the driver of the tank. Clay and I were shooting down every single chopper we saw after I unlocked the seat. No skill involved. I paint target, he locks on with guided shell, chopper dies. 100% hit. Chopper has ZERO recourse. ECM does NOT break the laser lock. It's not a heat seeking missile so flares do nothing. If you get locked onto a chopper, it's dead. We even killed an attack helo on Firestorm that did some pretty fancy flying to avoid the guided missile. He ducked between the distillation towers, dropped to the deck, flew between the buildings at B, then ducked around the crane at A, where the missile finally caught up and one shot him.

Trust me, I've been on the receiving end of this combo many times. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it except run the other way and pray you get out of range in time, and as you really have zero idea of where it's coming from that isn't always an option. It's not like SOFLAM which you can see the laser dot on you even without Thermal Optics. You can not see the laser from the tank even WITH Thermal Optics.

Tanks should not be able to have a guaranteed one shot kill against the paper to their rock.

I've never used the third seat but I have been in choppers that were hit by those guided shells with citv designation. There is nothing a pilot can do except beg their friendly tanks to take him out before he does it again lol

We actually had an attack helo dodge a few of our guided shots last night and then take us out. really good chopper/gunner combo...
