The gameplay of mechwarrior is what is so great, I could care less about the graphics. The customization level of the true game (not those "Mech Commander" and "Mech Assualt" games) is great and very accurate to the orginal board game. For those of you who do not know what I mean, instead of choosing weapon configuration 1, 2, or 3 or A, B, C, or what ever, you can strip everything out of a Mech and build it your way. What a fast mech? Strip out some armor and weapon and increas the engine size. Don't like missle weapons? Great rid of them and put some of the dozen different types of energy weapons in.

I wonder how many of the Mechs they will have? I figure atleast 2 of each weight (not weight class, actual weight) so that would be atlease 16, maybe 32 or more if they have the Clans also. There are hundreds to choose from.

Some where around my house I have all the books in PDF format and still have some of the maps. I miss the old Battletech days

I read the whole 5-6 page long IGN interview, simply amazing.

I'd like to point out that the interview confirmed it running on the Unreal 3 engine, meaning the game will run beautifully on most hardware. So I wouldn't be to worried about it running or not.

So I just re watched the trailer. I am dissapointed but not if that makes sense. I know the game is going to be great, but what I don't like is that it is set in 3015, 34 years before the Clans show up. The clans are my favorite part. Though I do like the Federated Suns which are in this game. But hopefully there will be a expansion or sequel that will be set in 3049 or later

I'm So Stoked! I loved MW3 I still have the discs as well as my MW2/MW4 discs.
I am really looking forward to this as well though.

Can use it as a hold over until this game is released. Anyone interested in playing it with me once it comes out?

Btw BlackHawk. I like your avatar. but the Annihilator is so much better. I had a config that carried 4 Gauss Rifles. :D Things died fast.
Also had one with 6 Clan LRM 20s I could kill anything with a quick link fire of all 6. Providing they all hit the center torso.
Friends made are never forgotten. Even if we grow apart or move on from this life, the fun times we spent together was all worth it.

That is if you can hit me. I add jump jets to my nova/black hawk. I can circle of death most people easily in the games even mechs that are twice my weight. That and most IS mechs, inclusding the Annihilator have trouble with clan mechs of any weight. Clan weapons and armor are strong and lighter than their IS counterparts. A nova may only be 50 tons, but against an Annihilator it is more like an 80 mech that is really fast

It's all preference and play style. You have to get close enough to me to circle strafe me first. Have fun trying that one. I specialized in taking out targets at range. And I used all clan parts on my Annihilator. I just like the chassis better than a Daishi.
Other Mechs I favored were the Thor and Bushwacker.

God I love the Mechwarrior series. The first online game I ever played was MW2, such fantastic memories.

Ahhhh MW4, I miss my old Clan, we were pretty darn awesome.

Ahhh brings back memories of destroying kids in my Nova, they never had a chance.

Mechwarrior is so much awesomesauce! I never played online though, just story and multiplayer vs the comp... But I still played it a lot, all of them. Mainly the last one... I bought my joystick just for it, and it was great.

I cannot wait for this to come out. It needs to be here now.... I may just have to reinstall the old MW to tide me over...

This is the only MechWarrior I have ever played. I liked it.

I'm interested, how many MW games are there and which are the best? Can you recommend any?

There are 4 mechwarrior games, and each of them has (correct me if im wrong) 3 addons (except #1 i think)

My favorites are MW3 Mercenaries, and MW4 Mercenaries with MekPak3 (people still play online with mekpak3)

I would recommend MW3 and 4, since they are my faves :D

[/quote]There was no Mechwarrior 3 Mercenaries - only the base game (Against the Clan Smoke Jaguars) and the Pirate Moon expansion (My favorite game in the series)

Mechwarrior 2 only had 2 addons - Ghost Bear and Mercs.
I am the 1%!

Chances are that means they are going to have to break from tabletop rules in favor of customization; Inner Sphere did not have omni mechs at that point.
