this can only be good. I hate pyros chasing my ass.

also stopped gate exploits---finally. although it is funny watching noobs run up to the gate, taunt, then burn. :twisted:

Fixed team switches on Attack/Defense maps spamming the console

Fixed the Kritzkrieg not working on servers with crits turned off

Fixed some clipped localized strings in various in-game dialogs

Fixed several cases where files were synchronously loaded while the game was running

Fixed a shutdown crash in the material system

Cached rendering of item model panels to improve performance, in particular while weapon selection was visible

Added a gear symbol behind the health bar for Engineer buildings, in both target IDs and freeze panels

Players killing themselves will now give a kill credit to the last enemy who damaged them

Fixed grenades, rockets, and flamethrower being able to fire through grates at round starts

Fixed players being killed and creating ragdolls during team switches

Fixed various exploits and performance problems in CP_Badlands, CP_Well, and CP_Fastlane

Removed health bonus from the Backburner

Hmm, I guess I'll go back to the regular flamethrower. I like the guaranteed crits from the BB but I mainly liked the extra health so I could go kamikaze when I played pyro. With that gone, the airblast just got a lot more attractive.

I'll probably switch back as well; my angles of attack are nearly always just a couple of degrees off, thus denying Critty goodness. Guess I'll have to practice with the airblast more (read; get blown up by rockets a lot).

Unhappy with this only because I was waiting to get back into pyro until my 30 days of dust bowl was done... Now I never really got to enjoy very much of the additional health. Oh well.

Oh you have no idea how long I've been waiting for this. As someone who plays a lot of Scout and Pyro, I've lost count of how many times I would go behind a Soldier and start batting/flaming the person, followed by a rocket and the death of both of us.

No more health boost? Meh, my desire to use the Backburner has gone from a rarely, down to a no-chance-in-hell-of-ever-equipping-again. Airblast is far more useful, the HP was the only draw that weapon ever had for me.

I'm also glad for the kill credit going to last player to injure. No more point-crazed Soldiers blowing themselves up rather than give up a few precious points to the person who practically killed them, and as a Pyro who plays by getting into the faces of Soldiers and Demos, this makes me a very happy man.

Also, no more cheesy through-the-gate firing and no more piles of corpses on new round?

Yep. This update is all right with me.
