spore help!!!

just today i downloaded spore yey!
but when i finished downloading it it sayed it would not work on my comp cuzz i didnt have directx

so i downloaded directx then it said i already have directx ...

so i try spore again and it wont work :(

so i was wondering if oyu have any ideas of what the problem is

Sorry I lost you while we were working on this; I have had two lock ups today after never having any... might be the heat, or it might be some h/w changes I have been making...

ANyway, hope the new video card drivers help...

I would see if you can UNinstall directx, then REinstall it, then try to install spore...

When you did the uninstall, did you make sure all the spore info was completely off your HD?

Maybe it requires a higher hardware DirectX version or something.

cause some games dont run DX10

1) His video card is on the list

2) He has the same DX as I do, and mine works; we ran dxdiag and everything checks out.

Something is screwy here and I can't for the life of me figure it out.

i am not sure if this will help, but it's worth a try. Have you opened your virus protection program and added Spore to a "trusted" state?


also, have you added spore to your firewall ignore list?
