DayZ server decommissioned

DayZ is now an official Ville game, and we've got a server for it! Here's the info:

Server IP and Port - 67.228.177.77:3408

Just copy and paste that in to the "favorites" list of DayZ Commander (it will parse automatically), or you can search it manually with the keyword "Ville."

All normal Ville rules apply - any troubles, let an admin know!

This game is only a mod, and an in-progress one at that, so it is susceptible to hackers, scripters, etc. If something gets really really screwed up (a hacker is on the server and is killing everybody/blowing stuff up) please note the time and immediately contact either myself or a Ville server op (like Dog, Stevo, or MMX)! If the actions are severe enough, and we're able to respond fast enough, we can restore a backup that will be no more than 10 minutes prior to the hacker's activities, but only if we know when those activities occured. It'll knock out progress during the rolled-back period, but will mitigate most of the losses.

When playing, don't forget to hop in Teamspeak! There is no global chat in game, either typed or voice - you're restricted to communicating with those near you. Given that the world is hundreds of square kilometers, the likelihood of getting gunned down by a friendly is quite high if they aren't aware of your presence through TS. This is a PvP and PvE world simultaneously - be ready for anything.

Useful information:

The map we're currently playing is the standard (non-EU) version of Taviana. Depending on what everybody wants, this may change occasionally, but for now we're sticking with this.

DayZ Commander (http://www.dayzcommander.com/) is a pretty easy way to keep the mod and the maps up to date. Betteh posted information and instructions for it here. Check it out.


Settings may change from time to time, as we hone in on what draws the most players, and what folks enjoy. Please don't hesitate to give feedback.

What's needed to play:
ARMA II Combined Operations (ARMA II and ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead)
DayZ Mod

Howdy all. After a year, it's come to pass that DayZ, at least on our server, is just not worth keeping as an official Ville Game. After speaking with Stutter, I've pulled the plug on this one. We're keeping our eyes out for other games that may serve as a good addition to our fold; if you have well-considered suggestions, let us all know! Thanks for the memories.

You gave it the ole college try AF and sometimes games just don't take here at the ville, but hey you never know till you try.
