Back to Karkand

So, with the impending release of Back to Karkand I figured we should once again discuss the server settings.

I, for one, vote that we run these maps almost exclusively leaving a few of the best normal conquest maps in the rotation. I think if we're one of the few servers running them almost exclusively, and we probably would be, we would keep it filled most of the day. The new (old?) game play mode is going to be what most BF faithful want to play. I think if we just keep running a vanilla conquest server we are going to doom our server to even more obscurity than it already is.

In regards to that, we need to start seeding the server earlier in the day. We can get it filled, we just need to start at like 5-6 PST rather than 10-11 PST. :(

I would love to have a server with the 4 new maps, then including: crossing, bazaar, kharg, and caspian.
If this is too many maps, I can see the smaller maps being removed: bazaar - > crossing

I'd drop Kharg. The new maps are going to be mostly vehicle maps to begin with. The main reason I would keep Seine and Bazaar is that they are the only primarily infantry based maps in the game currently. Well, I guess Davamand is, but that map is terrible.

Unless you count that game last night where we kept their entire team busy at A for like the entire game with just the 4 of us. Seriously, I think there were like 5 squads trying to kill us. Then we did it again on Bazaar. Are we trolls?

Peninsula and Karkand are very urban maps. Karkand (in bf2) is mostly infantry.

Really? Cause the only time I ever see people on it is around 11 PM EST usually.

I'm not sure if I want it or not...

On one hand, it has some of my favorite weapons from BF2 (Jackhammer, Type [insert number] weapons) but at the same time...it's $15.

Then again, it's also a bunch of cool maps from BF2...and dune buggies...

I fully support running all B2K maps with the new game mode plus a couple vanilla favorites(seine crossing and caspian border get my vote). The new maps are going to be great, but perhaps more importantly, ville XIV will be left in the dust when everyone wants to play the new stuff and we're still running the same old crap Dice put out for the release.

Yep. Half the maps are terribly balanced or just plain bad. Canals and Damavand jump to mind especially.
