But in all seriousness, it's always nice to add some gaming diversity.

you don't play any of the games we have here anyways

We want TheVille to be a living thriving gaming community...
Part of my surprise was that it's the first non-Valve/Source FPS we're going to be officially supporting.

My dad has a friend in Canada that he's gamed with since the peak of Battlefield 2 playing days. They both were quite phenoms at the game. Recently they have been chatting with each other, and this friend plans on building/buying his own server and hosting a BF3 server.

He knows Frau and I have a great time here at TheVille, and that the principles that are maintained here are just what he's looking for in a community of gamers. If another server is needed, or if you guys simply want to play on a well-organized and civil server, my dad is more than willing to let you guys come and game with him and his friend.

He offers this because he's tired of pubbing on servers populated by people with....colorful and vulgar language. He justs wants a change of environment, and if it has the stamp of approval by both of his gaming daughters, then why not try gaming with you all at TheVille? :)

It's just a thought, but he said he'd liek to hear what your thoughts are. :D

He may have found that server now that the ville will be hosting one. :) He might not even need to start his own, if the only objective is to play on a civil server, but maybe he will still consider hosting one if the process of hosting would be fun for him?

To the topic at large, I own battlefield 2 and never gave it a chance and am still horrid at the multiplayer aspect. Not sure if I will be getting BF3 or not, but I find it great news that the ville is hosting a server. I know a lot of villuns are probably looking forward to it, or will be introduced to a good game as a result of us hosting it, and it will also help expand our community, which is always a good thing. I might just have to figure out how to play BF2 and give BF3 a closer look now.

But more pertinently, what will happen when your dad headshots you in BF3? Do you kick him in the shins?

At one point he was renting one BC2 server and two Crysis 2 servers, but after certain personal epiphanies and wrong-doings, he quit paying for them and quit playing multi player games for a long time. But now he's ready for something new, so I'm sure he'd still host a server despite having the opportunity to play here. He talks about being strict of who goes on there in terms of language and general bad behavior. I once watched him twiddle with the admin panel on the bc2 server he had and he once banned himself with the description "No one likes you" just for the lolz. Then he unbanned himself

HAHA! As there is only once current pc in this house that could handle BF3 (Frau's laptop chokes on 32 person TF2 servers, so i doubt the 64 player maps my dad liked would hold up very well) at the moment, that is situationally impossible xD

Problem is, he's pretty good at sniping. So if this were pretty possible, I'd be expecting it  If I was doing something crucial, and he did such, I'd probably rage off-mic and yell some incoherent threat at him, only with him to smirk back without taking his eyes off the screen.

A kick to the shins will cause grounding from the computer, and I would not want that xD Retaliation in-game, however, would cause the most hilarious father-daughter bickering.
