oh I agree completely, it's just that some cosmetic options are simply taking it way too far IMO. Lime green top hats and pink bunny ears are just incredibly ugly (paint in general are just bad), not to mention the amount of promo items and unusual hats that make the game look even weirder than before, it really doesn't do the game justice, many of my friends are a bit confused when I introduce them to this game and I mention that hats are more valuable than weapons...why should they be? you can kill people better with a new gun than with some stupid looking hat.

I'm all for the unlockable sidegrades, but some are still too overpowered (equalizer, Fists of Steel, etc). The problem to me is that Valve is attempting to balance classes by giving them better unlocks, rather than tweaking their core gameplay (see: degreaser) and when these weapons become necessary in order to play a class with some form of consistency, it puts new players at a disadvantage, as they have to wait for the specific weapon to drop.

Acctually, he's got about 20 less than he started with, when TF2 first came out, the rocket launcher had 36 rockets in reserve. The demo also had 36 grenades in reserve, as well as 40 stickies.
Hm, learn something new everyday.

Don't forget the 6 grenade clip in the Grenade Launcher! Or was that beta?

I think the demo still has 6 grenades in his clip on the 360 version

That may have been TFC, but given how I never played TFC, I don't know

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.

i'm pretty sure the 6 shot demo clip and higher ammo reserves were one of the first nerfs to happen.

The demo always had 4 grenades, at least since the public release. Only the reserve ammo was reduced. I found this video from the beta (posted September 20, 2007) showing 4 grenades:

I know that at some point early in development he had 6 grenades. It was deemed too powerful and reduced to 4, but the model was never changed so our Demomen still run around with grenade launchers that are never filled to visual capacity.

The grenade launcher model has 6 chambers for 6 nades, but he never actually had 6. As I recall...the whole 6 nade thing was speculation based on the Team Fortress 2 trailers before the game ever came out.

No, it did originally have 6, but that was an extremely early change.

One that never hit those poor saps on the consoles.
