If you have been having problems with the Launcher not seeing Minecraft Services when logging into the launcher with a Microsoft account on Windows 7/8 this was caused by someone incorrectly turning on TLS 1.3 on the authentication Microsoft server.

They rolled it back to TLS 1.2 late yesterday afternoon, so it should be working again now.

Unfortunately I had just finally converted to an MS account from Mojang, so I thought it was conversion issue. Fortunately it appears is fixed now per a post in the Mojang Jira Bug database.

I need to do this, before March 10th just to get a free cape.

I'm looking forward to when we can trade hats in Minecraft. I think that feature will be released in early April.
