The Aquatic Update - Discussion.

Post by John Doe » Wed Jun 27, 2018 6:59 pm

Hey All, I know we only did a reset on March 1st but that will be 4 months ago and we have been working towards resets every six months.

The Aquatic update just hit pre-release 4 yesterday, I have no idea when it would be ready for release but I thought it would be a good time to have a discussion on it.

Information on the Aquatic Update can be found here:

https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/min ... re-release

https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Update_Aquatic

So, the question I want your input on is would you be ready for a reset when 1.13 is officially released?

Please let us know your thoughts.

I am pretty much always down for a reset on a MC server. The first period of exploration and initial construction is my favorite!

The new content of this one looks like it is, aptly enough, focused almost entirely on making oceans more interesting, and creating the practical capacity to live permanently underwater. That part is definitely a bit of a gimmick, but I'm ok with that - so's everything else!

And not to jump the gun or anything but what do you think of calling it AquaVille?

Awesome of course.
And on the Pocket edition. The update is real neat. Hope they carried it over just as well or better for PC.

Iceman sent me a clip where the developers stated they are trying to have the update out for the end of July.

So we have a few more weeks to enjoy Purpleville.

July 18th as the anticipated release date, barring disaster it sounds like. That would be next Wednesday.

AquaVille, ho!

It looks like the 18th will be the release date, lets hope that will be the case.

If Mojang releases the update early we might be able to get the server reset on the 18th, if they dont release it until late in the day it might be a problem.

Perhaps its best to say we will go live with the Aquatic update on the 19th?

Also, what sort of seed does everyone want? I have found a few where spawn is on an island in the middle of an ocean, being the aquatic update thats pretty cool but there wont be many resources available, and the footprint is pretty small so a large spawn build wont be likely.

Everyone would need boats to get to and from the island until the nether is up and running, and I am sure there would be many other challenges that we have not faced before. I think it might be fun to try it out on AquaVille but I would like to know what others think.

AquaVelva? Sign me up!

Also soon to drop, Mojang's version of Old Spice!

(Of course when I was a kid, it was New Spice, but whatever.)

Any seed is good.
