Play together update xbox

Hi everyone! It has been a long time, I've been super busy. I am just wondering if anyone plays Minecraft on Xbox One, and if they updated from teh "Xbox One" version to the "Play together" version? I usually play on my computer, but we recently got it for xbox as well, and the version we got was apparenlty they older version. Looking online, it looks like we should be able to update it to the play together version for free as long as more than five hours have been played (more than enough hours in alread).
It shows a price for it on the store page, so I am having some difficulty getting the upgrade... any help would be appreciated.
