Server being laggy

Hello, I haven't been playing minecraft for a while so I am not sure who's attention I should bring this to so ill post it here. Tonight at about 11-12pm CT, the server was very laggy, it would freeze completely for appx 2-3 seconds about every 15 seconds, and it was making it quite un-playable. There were only about 5 people on so it doesn't seen to be a population load issue. Just hoping maybe there is a way to look into some logs or see what was causing it so we can build smoothly in the future.
Glad to be back on and having fun though, see you all around!

I was out on a horse last night generating land for maybe 2 or 3 hours last night. So that was probably part of it. Sorry bout that. I was trying to explore some coast line to see if I could get a jungle for flash. Once my horse died I ended up just coming back.

That seemed like when it happened, it just seems like there is an underlying problem with the server if you cant have one person generating new terrain without lagging that bad. If 2 or more were exploring at that rate it would be unplayable.

So I recall something about stevo and dog shifting around memory from vanilla to tekkit, is this a contributing factor or did my memory run out of power?

I think you're just remembering something that people were joking about. To my knowledge nothing like this has happened, the servers aren't physically near each other.

This is incorrect. If I remember, Dog downloaded more ram to the server. http://downloadmoreram.com/
