Please stop creative mode on the SMP server

Anyway. This concept of using creative on this smp map for its assigned purpose is still new. And by our debating, we can figure out what sort of regulations we need to implement such as not building with bedrock or not using TNT, and even not going and using creative on projects not labeled as public infrastructure. We hit a bump and got frazzled. Let's try and get out of that state okay?

Most people here had it with you when you through a tissy fit over the text being used on the map where people were claiming land, which is why when the idea was suggested for the new map it was stomped out immediately.

Oh, I know. I've since calmed down on my part about this whole issue, because I realized my hypocracy because of what I'm doing on my own server. (Building a homeless mansion out of copious stacks and stacks of brick blocks, sandstone, and wood, because I want something for friends to see when they decide to visit my small server)

I'm confident things will calm down. It seems that it already is somewhat. Sometimes transitions ain't easy. We have our opinions, but as a community we must make compromises and fair deals right?

If someone want to use an overworld rail because that's their playstyle, then so be it. If someone likes zippity-do-dah nether rails instead, then great on them too because its utlizing the nether's coordinate ratios. I personally like to use both, because I just can't seem to make up my danged mind. I would visit the nether more often if I had better survival instincts, but I horribly lack in that department so my trips there are sparse anyway. My playstyle involves a teeny bit of exploring, spelunking, building, and spectating/helping others build. Whether with survival or with creative, I really wouldn't care (unless the creative or survival buildings are created with off intent) because either mode wouldnt affect my gamestyle.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to sit back with some soothing soup a-la the Soup Nazi. That certainly sounds awesome to me.

Apparently I do need to post because you still don't get it, I am NOT against an overworld rail (even though i think its useless), simply stating that if you wanted immediate infrastructure it's already there half way done, with materials we have already gathered. If you wanted an overworld rail, I wasn't and wouldn't stop you. It's like building half a car and stopping to start a brand new one, even though its gets half the MPG. Finish one, start on the other.

But we aren't stopping the production of the nether rail. I'm sorry for the misconception of your intentions but having one rail in one place does not mean someone else can't build another rail with the result of only having one working rail (your example in rails). We can have two working rails because different people are working on the construction of each.

And, to be clear, I would love to help build the infrastructure in the nether if someone could give me some darn coordinates to hook up to...

I've been a fairly strong supporter of playing the game as you want to. As has been said in the past, minecraft is a game that you can pretty much make of it what you want. I don't really like the use of creative mode to make things on the server. But I can understand their place. Building those infrastructure items do take time, the stuff on the old map did not just pop up over night. I understand that gathering materials for this stuff takes time that not everyone has. So I guess if playing in creative mode helps people to enjoy the game, then have at it. So long as people build the stuff in their own area I couldn't care less how they build it. Just don't expect me to be completely impressed by stuff built in creative mode.

I won't go so far as to completely shun the rail or server because of creative mode. But I will ask that any other creative mode projects stay out of the Failtress.

Theres been some serious unfriendlyness going on it this thread, some un villan like sarcasm and taunting in Teamspeak and sillyness on the server due to these discussions.

Its only a game folks, relax please.

If creative mode has been used to build something at the spawn to benefit all the join the server you certainly are not being asked or forced to use it, head out and find your little plot of land that you wish to create your kingdom on and have at it. Dont use resources created to benefit new players if you dont want to but also dont dwell on it as somehow ruining your game when it hasnt.

Just remember in the end its Stevos server that he offers up to Villans to play on, be grateful its here for us to use and thank him for providing it. Otherwise where would we all play and interact and have a good time?

I dont know about you but I play games to relax and get away from the stresses of real life, drama like this just isnt worth it for a game. Lets all play and have fun and not worry about what others do on the server as it does not affect how you choose to play.

This argument is very gray if you ask me and that's why it hasn't stopped. I've been in my fair share of arguments myself, and while they look really bad on the outside, the inside is a tasty peanut butter core. This argument won't be resolved by posting because it's a grey. It's not some sort of moral/philosophical argument were you can simply say one side is wrong. Your entire backing for what you voted for is just your opinion, and to everyone else, that's not much.

Well said, JD. I couldn't have said it better myself. Especially towards the end with hostile jabs made that were barely disguised by the topic at hand. Even sooner than that we had been lobbing accusations and claims of misunderstanding with if it affects our game play or not.

And Bronze, while it may not contain a delicious peanut butter center (like the fresh stuff from the top of a newly opened jar), we do have the option of letting it end with any soup we desire. Certainly making me hungry either way since I had just woken up and am hungry
